Objective: To explore the application effect of the improved PIRO scale on the condition of children with severe community acquired pneumonia(SCAP),and to analyze the correlation between the two. Methods: The clinical data of 366 children with severe community-acquired pneumonia treated in the pediatric ward of our hospital from January 2017 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed, and they were classified into low-risk groups according to the modified PIRO scale score.(n = 125),medium risk group(n = 116),high risk group(n = 80),extremely high risk(n = 45).Compare condition data such as ventilator utilization rate, septicemia incidence rate, critical organ failure rate, length of hospital stay and mortality rate in each group, analyze the correlation between the improved PIRO score and the condition data, and use the receiver survival curve(ROC)to measure The modified PIRO scale reflects the application value of prognosis outcomes in children with severe community acquired pneumonia. Results: The scores of the modified PIRO scale were positively correlated with the severity of the children with severe community-acquired pneumonia(SCAP)(P <0.05).After defining the severity of the children according to the modified PIRO scale, the ventilator usage of the four groups of children,The occurrence of sepsis, the occurrence of important organ failure, the length of hospital stay, and the final child mortality rate were statistically significant(P <0.05),and the improved PIRO score increased with the length of hospital stay;Improved PIRO score to measure the application value of prognosis outcomes in children with severe community acquired pneumonia. The area under the ROC curve is 0.762(95% CI: 0.648-0.876),the best cutoff is ? 5 points, the sensitivity is 84.6%,and the specificity is 68.8.%(P <0.05).Conclusion: The improved PIRO scale can effectively quantify the severity of the disease, and it has a better clinical application effect in children with severe community-acquired pneumonia in China, and can reflect the prognosis of children to a certain extent.
