Objective:By retrospective analysis,we analyze the effect of the traditional Chinese medicine in the prevention of recurrence and metastasis of colorectal cancer, and look for the best intervention time, the best duration of medication and treatment methods. Methods:Colorectal cancer patients included in the outpatient and inpatient department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Traditio nal Chinese Medicine from January 1st,2009 to December 30st,2015.Th en datas are entered into spss22.0,and statistically described:agegender, western medicalcharacteristics(TNM stages, pathological classification,d ifferentiation degree, tumor location, symptoms),the traditional chinese medicine features(TCM syndrome type and whether is to take herbs).Kaplan Meier, log rank and COX analysises were used to find the f actor influencing the prognosis.Comparing the oral Chinese medicine group(operation+radiotherapy or chemotherapy+traditional Chinese Medicine)with the control group(operation+radiotherapy or chemotherapy),Kaplan Meier and log rank were used to analyze the effect of the chinese medicine after colorectal cancer operation, and find the best intervention time, the best duration of medication and treatment methods.Results:1.From the outpatient and inpatient department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,155 colorectal cancer patients are enrolled, including 130 patients who took traditional Chinese medicine and 25 patients who did not take traditional Chinese medicine.2.Single factor analysis show that general classification,TNM stage,TCM syndrome type, taking herbs, times from sugery to taking herbs and times of taking herbs are related to disease-free progress(DFS).General classification show that the prognosis of low Protuberant type is better than ulcer type and infiltration type. The survival curve shows that TNM stage is negatively related to DFS and the prognosis of Qi Stagnation and Blood Stasis Syndrome and Qi and Blood Deficiency Syndrome are better than Damp Heat Accumulation Syndrome and liver and Kidney Yin Deficiency Syndrome.3.The average DFS of the oral herbs group is 38.1 months, the average DFS of the control group is 24.56 months. The survival curve shows that the oral herbs group can prolong the disease-free survival period of colorectal cancer patients. There was no difference between the two groups in?stage(P>0.05).The average DFS in stage was 40.73 months, which in non oral group was 28.42 months(P<0.05).the average DFS in stage was 34.50months,and which in the non oral group was 22.18 months(P<0.05).Traditional chinese medicine can alleviate insomnia, fatigue, waist and knee tenderness.4.According to times from to sugery to oral herbs,130 patients who have took herbs will be divided into four groups“less than 3 months”?“3-6months”?“6-9 months”?“more than 9 months”.There was a significant difference between“less than 3 months”and“more than 9 months”groups(X~2=18.161,P<0.05).(2)According to time of taking herbs,130 patients was divided into“less than 6 months”?“6-12 months”,“12-18 months”?“more than18 months”groups.Log Rank test was used to compare the length of oral medication. The results showed that“less than 6 months”and“6-12months”groups had statistical significance(X~2=26.442,P<0.05),and the“less than 6 months”and“12-18 months”groups had statistical significance(X~2=20.413,P<0.05),the lesser than 6 months and more than18 monthshad statistical significance(X~2=11.022,P=0.001<0.05).The survival of the two groups showed that the longer the oral administration of traditional Chinese medicine, the better the prognosis.5.According to the analysis of TNM stage and treatment, the treatment of colorectal cancer is mainly invigorating qi,strengthening spleen and dredging liver, which is the common three treatment methods in each stage.Conclusions:1.Traditional Chinese medicine can prolong the DFS for 14 months and prevent recurrence and metastasis of colorectal cancer. It can effectively alleviate the symptoms of asthenia, insomnia, waist and knee tenderness.2.The time of taking of traditional Chinese medicine should no less than6 months, with it is perfectly for 6-12 months.the time from surgey to oral Chinese medicine should less 3 months and not more than 9 months(P<0.05).3.The prognosis of Liver Kidney Yin Deficiency Syndrome is wor se than other syndrome types of traditional Chinese Medicine, and inf iltration type is worse than other gross types.4.The treatment of colorectal cancer is mainly Invigorating Qi and Spleen,Soothing Liver. The importance of"liver"should be emphasized in the whole treatment process.
