Trait anxiety is a relatively stable anxiety tendency with implicit and individual differences. It is a stable personality trait.Individuals with high trait anxiety are "susceptible people" with mental disorders such as clinical anxiety disorder and depression.Based on the classical experimental paradigm of psychology, this paper analyzes the topology and attributes of brain network by using the complex network analysis method based on graph theory, and discusses the characteristics of brain functional network in cognitive conflict response of individuals with high trait anxiety.High trait anxiety(HTA)individuals(as subjects)and low trait anxiety(LTA)individuals(as controls)were asked to perform emotional word-face Stroop conflict tasks and Simon spatial cognitive conflict response task, behavioral data and 64-lead EEG signals were recorded simultaneously.Perform synchronous likelihood analysis on EEG data, select appropriate thresholds to construct the brain network topology, and calculate the overall network attribute parameters(global efficiency, clustering coefficient, and feature path length)and node attribute parameters(node degree). The behavior data(response time and accuracy)and the attribute parameters of brain network were analyzed by ANOVA,the results showed that:(1)The efficiency of cognitive conflict response were decreased under Stroop emotional conflict and Simon spatial conflict tasks in HTA individuals, which showed that the conflict response time was prolonged and the response accuracy rate decreased, indicating that their executive control ability decreased.(2)Under Stroop task of emotional conflict, abnormal connections were found in the frontal, parietal and temporal regions in HTA individuals.Compared with LTA individuals, the nodes of frontal and parietal lobes were less, while those of temporal lobes were higher, which indicate that high-trait anxiety individuals have reduced function of forehead executive control network, weakened response choice and conflict resolution ability to emotional conflict, and emotional information stimulated abnormally enhanced temporal lobe function. The decline of frontal parietal executive control network function in HTA individuals may be related to abnormal excitement in the temporal region.(3)Under the task of Stroop emotional conflict and emotion-independent Simon spatial cognitive conflict, the whole attribute of brain network and frontal and parietal node attribute in HTA individuals were abnormal: the clustering coefficient, global efficiency, and the degree of frontal and parietal nodes decreased were significantly decreased, the characteristic path length is significantly increased, which is manifested by the decrease in the internal tight connection, the decrease in the information transmission capacity, and weakened synchronism and functional connection between frontal and parietal lobe. The above results show that the execution control ability of conflict monitoring and conflict resolution in HTA individuals is reduced, the underlying mechanism is not only related to the impaired function of the forehead execution control network, but also related to the weakening of the integration function and information transmission capacity of the brain network.Impaired function of forehead executive control network and decreased executive control ability are stable and inherent characteristics of anxiety.
