At present, most researchers pay attention to the characteristics of emotion of clinical anxiety disorder and cognitive processing and the study of people with non-clinical high trait anxiety score under stress conditions is relatively less.Higher levels of anxiety tend indicates high risk anxiety disorders and other mental illnesses. It is helpful for early diagnosis and prevention of anxiety disorders and other mental diseases to study the characteristics of emotion and cognitive processing in trait anxiety population of College Students. In this paper,event-related potential(ERP)technology is used to explore the characteristics of ERP spatial-temporal patterns of emotional conflict and cognitive conflicts in trait anxiety population of College Students using high and low trait anxiety individuals as the research objects. The contents of this study include the following two parts:The first part adopts the "word-face" Stroop paradigm,so that 16 research objects with high and low trait anxiety complete the emotional conflict task, using the "Happy" and "sad" faces and corresponding emotional words as the material,to explore the emotional conflict effects of College Students with trait anxiety and conflict adaptation effects.Statistical analysis of the correct response rate showed that emotional conflict effect and conflict adaptation effect appeared in both groups with high and low trait anxiety. In terms of the reaction time, both high and low trait anxiety groups showed emotional conflict effect, but there was no conflict adaptation effect in high trait anxiety group, which showed that the ability of conflict monitoring on objects with high trait anxiety groups was weak. The results of ERP showed that the conflict adaptation effect appeared in high quality anxiety group on P100 in prefrontal region and N450 in central parietal region, indicating that the ability of early attention and conflict monitoring was enhanced. While in high quality anxiety group, the slow potential amplitude of slow potential conflict in prefrontal region had no conflict adaptation effect, indicating that the response to emotional conflict selection and conflict resolution ability were weakened. The second part: using the classic Simon Paradigm,16 objects with high and low traitanxiety were tested to complete the task of color-position conflict to explore the resolution of spatial position cognitive conflict and the characteristics of brain processing in College Students with trait anxiety. The results showed that the same disturbance pattern of Simon effect in response time and correct rate appeared on precision and reaction on people with high and low trait anxiety. The results of ERP showed that the Simon effect of P300 amplitude in high trait anxiety group was larger than that in low trait anxiety group. The N270 and P300 amplitude of conflict response in high trait anxiety group were smaller than those in low trait anxiety group, which indicated that cognitive inhibition ability of spatial location conflict processing in high trait anxiety group decreased. In this study, emotional conflict and cognitive conflict paradigm revealed that the conflict response monitoring and inhibition ability of College Students with trait anxiety is insufficient.
