Objective:Drugs abuse and addiction have been prevalent and popular in the border area of China and Myanmar for hundreds of years.Drugs abuse will seriously harm people's health. The process of drug withdrawal is often accompanied by malnutrition, various functional disorders of the body and metabolic abnormalities. This study compared the drugs users' nutrient metabolic indexes in China-Myanmar border and all the drugs addicts were in withdrawal period. We compared the 3 drugs user groups(methamphetamine group, heroin group and mixed use group)with the control group,to show the difference in many kinds of blood and biochemical indicators. Our study will provide a new theoretical basis for the recovery of nutritional status and safety detoxification treatments during the withdraw period. Methods:In this study,190 drugs abusers were admitted to the hospital of the China-Myanmar border longchuan rehabilitation center from August 2018 to October 2019 were collected and divided into three groups according to the type of drugs use history:methamphetamine use disorders(MUDs,n=59),heroin use disorders(HUDs,n=83)and methamphetamine heroin mixed use disorders(MHUDs,n=48)according to abuse type of drugs. In addition, the control group was the healthy local people recruited from longchuan in April 2019(HCs,n=39).Blood hematological and biochemical traits(red blood cells(RBC),white blood cells(WBC),hemoglobin(HGB),lymphocyte(LYMPH),lymphocyte percentage(LYMPH%),neutrophil(NEUT),neutrophil percentage(NEUT%),monocyte(MONO),monocyte percentage(MONO%);total protein(TP),albumin(ALB),prealbumin(PA),globulin(GLOB);triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C);the serum trace elements sodium(Na),chlorine(Cl),calcium(Ca),phosphorus(P)and magnesium(Mg);alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartic transaminase(AST),uric acid(UA),urea and creatinine(Crea),immunoglobulin G(IgG),immunoglobulin A(IgA),immunoglobulin M(IgM),C-reactive protein(CRP))were measuredResults:1.The results of blood routine examination showed that the HCs groups were significantly higher than those of the other three groups in WBC,LYMPH,and LYMPH%(P<0.001,<0.001,=0.028,respectively).HCs were significantly lower than the other three groups in NEUT and NEUT%(P<0.001,<0.001 respectively).2.The results of protein and nucleic acid metabolism indexes showed that the HCs group were significantly lower than the other three groups in TP,GLOB and ALT(P=0.040,0.013 and 0.017,respectively).In UA,HCs group and MUDs group were significantly higher than HUDs group(P=0.001,0.006,respectively)and MHUDs group(P=0.005,0.038,respectively).In Urea,HCs was significantly higher than the other three groups(P<0.001,<0.001,=0.006,respectively),while MHUDs group was significantly higher than MUDs group(P=0.004).In this study,SPSS 18.0 software was used for statistical analysis, and the statistical results were plotted and analyzed by Graphpad 7.0.K-S test was used to test whether the sample data conforms to the normal distribution, and Levene test was used to test whether the sample data conforms to the homogeneity of variance.ANOVA one-way analysis of variance was used for the four groups conforming to the normal distribution.Mann-Uhitney U test was used for comparison of the four groups that did not conform to the normal distribution, and the Bonferroni correction method was used for pantwise comparison.Among the test results, those conforming to normal distribution were expressed as Mean ± standard deviation(Mean ± SD),those not conforming to normal distribution were expressed as median(quartile). The test level ?=0.05,and bilateral P<0.05 meant that the difference was statistically significant.3.The results of lipid metabolism indexes showed that in the TG MUDs group was significantly higher than the HCs group and the MHUDs group(P=0.002,0.002,respectively),and the HUDs group was significantly higher than the HCs group(P=0.024).TC in MHUDs group was significantly lower than that in other three groups(P=0.025).The HDL-C in HCs group was significantly higher than the other three groups(P=0.010).4.The results of trace elements showed that the HCs group were significantly lower than the other three groups in Na,Cl and Mg elements(P<0.001,<0.001 and<0.001,respectively).P elements shows MHUDs group was significantly higher than other three groups(P<0.001,0.038,0.048,respectively),while HC s group was significantly lower than MUDs group and HUDs group(P=0.007,0.003,respectively).5.The results of immune indexes showed that the CRP in HCs group was significantly lower than the MUDs group and the MHUDs group(P<0.001,0.038,respectively).Conclusion:Drugs abuser in China-Myanmar border had abnormal metabolism of protein, fat and trace elements during the withdrawal period, which may obviously influence their liver and renal functions. Some indicators suggest that methamphetamine and heroin mixed feeding may have a serious additive effects of nutrition and metabolism compared to only one drug abusers. It predicted that we need to enhance the monitoring and treatments works to the methamphetamine and heroin mixed abusers during thir withdraw period. These results would provide a theoretical basis for nutritional recovery treatments and safe detoxification with drugs withdrawal patients.
