Objectives growth arrest-specific protein 6(Gas6)is a member of the vitamin K-dependent protein family and it was identified as a ligand for the Axl family of receptor tyrosine kinases.When Gas6 binds to Axl,it induces Axl phosphorylation and activates downstream signaling pathways.It regulates various physiological functions of cells and participates in the occurrence and development of various tumors.This study was designed to investigate the expression of Axl and its ligand Gas6 in mammalian colon cancer and its relationship with clinicopathological features.Methods Using the immunohistochemistry method to detect the expression of Axl and Gas6 in 87 colon cancer tissues and corresponding adjacent tissues and colon tissues away from tumor 5 cm(control group).The results were analyzed by SPSS21.0 statistical software.The count data were tested by ?2(<0.05),Bonferroni correction(P<0.0167)was used for comparison between groups,and Spearman test was used for numerical correlation.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results The positive rates of Axl in colon tissues away from tumor 5 cm,adjacent tissues and cancerous tissues were 33.33%(29/87)?34.48%(30/87)?53.87%(46/87),with a significant difference(?2=8.700,P<0.05).The positive rate of Axl in colon cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent tissues and colon tissues away from tumor 5 cm,and the difference was statistically significant compared with the positive rate in colon tissues away from tumor 5 cm and adjacent tissues(Bonferroni correction,P<0.0167).however,there was no significant difference in the positive rate between colon tissues away from tumor 5 cm and adjacent tissues.(Bonferroni correction,P>0.0167).The positive rates of Gas6 in colon tissues away from tumor 5 cm,adjacent tissues and cancerous tissues were37.93%(33/87)?43.53%(37/87)?60.92%(53/87),with a significant difference(?2=10.333,P<0.05).The positive rate of Gas 6 in colon cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent tissues and colon tissues away from tumor 5 cm,and the difference was statistically significant compared with the positive rate incolon tissues away from tumor 5 cm and adjacent tissues(Bonferroni correction,P<0.0167).however,there was no significant difference in the positive rate between colon tissues away from tumor 5 cm and adjacent tissues.(Bonferroni correction,P>0.0167).Analysis of Pathological Parameters of Axl and Gas6 and Correlation Analysis of Their Expression:In colon cancer tissues,the expression of Axl and Gas6 proteins were associated with infiltration depth and lymph node metastasis,regardless of gender,age,tumor location,tumor size and degree of differentiation.Spearman rank correlation test showed that there was a positive correlation between the expression of Axl and Gas6 protein in colon cancer(y=0.518,P<0.01).Conclusion The high expression of Axl and Gas6 protein in colon cancer tissues is related to infiltration depth and lymph node metastasis.It is not related to gender,age,tumor location,tumor size and degree of differentiation,and it provides new ideas for the diagnosis?treatment and prognostic judgments of colon cancer patients.and provides a theoretical basis for targeted therapy of tumors.
