Clinical Observation Of Ultrasound-Guided Genicular Nerve Block Combined With Ozone Intra-articular Injection For Knee Osteoarthritis

Objective:The current study aims to evaluate the clinical efficacy of ultrasound-guided genicular nerve block(GNB)combined with ozone intra-articular injection in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.Methods:Forty-three patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into two groups and followed up for 12 months.In the control group,23 patients with 31 affected knees,were given 30?g/ml ozone 15ml intra-articular injection,once a week for 4 weeks.In the combined group,there were 20 patients with 28 affected knees.The combined group was given GNB at week 1 and week 3 on the basis of control group intervention.Visual analog scale(VAS),WOMAC scores,the MOS item short from health survey(SF-36),Patient Health Questionnare-9(PHQ-9)and Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7(GAD-7)were assessed at baseline and multiple time points after the procedure.Results:(1)There was no significant difference in baseline of VAS,WOMAC,sf-36,phq-9 and gad-7 scores between the two groups.(2)VAS scores and WOMAC scores of the two groups were significantly improved from baseline(P<0.001),and the combined group was better than the control group(P<0.01).(3)Scores of SF-36,PHQ-9 and GAD-7 in the two groups were improved from baseline(P<0.01),but there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.Both ozone intra-articular injection and knee nerve block combined with ozone intra-articular injection can effectively improve knee osteoarthritis pain and joint function within 12 months.Knee nerve block combined with ozone intra-articular injection has a faster and better effect.2.Patients with knee osteoarthritis have varying degrees of impaired quality of life and depressive and anxious states,which can be improved with the improvement of osteoarthritis symptoms,which may be related to the relief of pain and improvement of joint function after treatment.
