BackgroundObjectiveto explore the recovery of binocular visual function in patients with concomitant strabismus after eye position correction based on virtual reality(virtual reality,VR),to evaluate the cure rate of binocular visual function in different treatment cycles,and to evaluate the improvement and reconstruction effect of binocular visual function in different treatment cycles.MethodsPatients with concomitant strabismus who were diagnosed and underwent eye position correction surgery in our hospital from June 2017 to October 2019 were included in this subject with informed consent.According to the method of random number table,the cases were randomly divided into training group(group A,n = 67),male(n = 35),female(n = 32)and control group(group B,n = 68),with 37 males and 29 females.A comprehensive specialist examination was performed on all patients to rule out vertical strabismus,rotational strabismus,monocular moderate / severe strabismus amblyopia and other systemic organic lesions.The examination of binocular visual function was performed in both groups before operation,3 months after operation and 6 months after operation.The examination methods included traditional binocular visual function examination and stereoscopic vision examination of visual perception learning system.The former included four-hole lamp,Yan Shaoming stereo vision and synoptophore examination.The latter includes random point 2-order large-scale stereoscopic vision(2-order stereoscopic vision),random point 1-order dynamic stereoscopic vision(1-order stereoscopic vision)and random point0-order fine stereoscopic vision(0-order stereoscopic vision).Group A received VR training twice a day after operation,while group B received no intervention except refractive correction.The recovery of binocular visual function was observed in group A and group B at 3 and 6 months after operation,respectively.At the end of the experiment,the patients in group B who had no improvement in binocular visual function were trained in visual perception for one treatment cycle,and the recovery of binocular visual function was observed.1.It is estimated that the cure rate(14/67)of the training group is not statistically different from the expected(7/68)at 3 months P>0.05;the cure rate(26/67)of the training group is expected to be significantly higher than that at 6 months Higher(7/68),the difference was statistically significant P<0.01;the 6-month follow-up cure rate(47.8%)of the training group was higher than the 3 months(37.3%).2.Three months after operation in the training group,the results of four-hole lamp,Yan Shaoming stereopsis and synoptophore were significantly improved compared with those before operation(P<0.01),and the first-order dynamic stereopsis at random points was significantly improved(P <0.05).The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),but the results of random point 0-order fine stereopsis and random point 2-order large-scale stereopsis were not statistically significant compared with those before operation(P>0.05).3.Six months after operation in the training group,there were significant differences in the results of four-hole lamp,Yan Shaoming stereopsis and synoptophore compared with those before operation(P<0.01).The results of random point 1-order dynamic stereopsis and random point 0-order fine stereopsis were statistically significant compared with those before operation(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between random point 2-order large-scale stereopsis and preoperative stereopsis(P > 0.05).4.Three months after operation,the results of four-hole lamp examination in the control group(group B)were significantly different from those before operation(P<0.05).Yan Shaoming stereopsis,synoptophore,random point 0-order fine stereopsis,random point 1-order dynamic stereopsis and random point 2-order large-scale stereopsis had no statistical significance compared with those before operation(P>0.05).5.Six months after operation in the control group(group B),the results of four-hole lamp examination were statistically significant compared with those before operation(P<0.05).The results of Yan Shaoming stereopsis,synoptophore,random point 0-order fine stereopsis,random point 1-order dynamic stereopsis and random point 2-order large-scale stereopsis had no clinical significance compared with those before operation(P>0.05).6.After VR training,the results of binocular visual function in the training group were significantly lower than those in the control group at 3 and 6 months after operation.7.After 6 months of treatment,16 patients in the control group received VR training for 3 months.theResultsfour-hole lamp,random point 0-order fine stereopsis,random point 1-order dynamic stereopsis and random point 2-order large-scale stereopsis after training were significantly higher than those before training,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions1.Visual perception learning based on VR technique has a significant effect on the recovery of binocular visual function in patients with concomitant strabismus.2.The curative effect of 6 months after operation was better than that of 3 months after operation.3.The visual perception system is more sensitive than the traditional method in examining binocular visual function,and has the advantages of qualitative,quantitative and easy follow-up.
