Efficacy Of Fenofibrate In The Treatment Of Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease:A Meta-analysis

Objective:To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of fenofibrate in the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)Methods:The clinical trials of fenofibrate in the treatment of NAFLD were retrieved The databases included PubMed,Web of Science,the Cochrane Library,,Wanfang database,VIP,China Biology Medicine,China National Knowledge Infrastructure and so on.In addition,we manually searched journals in related fields and tracked references to avoid missing important literature.The retrieval period is from inception to 30 September,2019.The two researchers independently screened literature,extracted data and evaluated the quality of the studies based on inclusion and exclusion criteria.The RevMan 5.3 software was used for conducting all data analyses.Results:Finally,a total of 10 articles involving 890 patients(461 patients in experimental group and 429 patients in control group)were included.The results of meta-analysis showed that the intervention of fenofibrate had a significant effect on the comprehensive treatment effect of NAFLD patients than the control group,fewer adverse events,and can significantly reduce the serum alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,γ-glutamyl transpeptidase,Laminin,hyaluronicacid,Procollagen Type Ⅲ,collagen Type Ⅳ,triglyceride,total cholesterol,low density lipoprotein cholesterol levels and increase serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol levels.The sensitivity analysis results indicated that our results are stable and reliable The results of the funnel plot analysis showed that there was little possibility of publication bias in the included literatureConclusion:Fenofibrate can improve the clinical efficacy NAFLD patients,and the safety was well.Fenofibrate can improve blood lipid metabolism,hepatic fibrosis and liver function in NAFLD patients.It has the therapeutic effect on NAFLD patients.
