ObjectiveTo explore the negative emotional responses f medical studentst to envy and deperssion when they use passive social networking sites,the concept of upward comparison is introduced to explain the psychological reaction mechanism of medical undergraduates when they use social networking sites.MethodThe subjects were selected as medical undergraduates in Shandong Province,and the questionnaires were filled out by online(questionnaire star)and offline(paper questionnaire).Result1.The result of medical student in the envy was 21.88 ±5.19,and the percentage of detection of depression is 52.4.2.The use of passive social networking sites by medical students shows that the data on the source of the students is statistically significant,and the use of passive social networking sites from cities is higher than that of passive social networking sites from rural areas(t=-2.28,P<0.05).The upward comparison scores of medical students were statistically significant in the source area,and the upward comparison scores from the cities were higher than those from the rural areas(t=-2.05,P<0.05).In the envy scores of medical students,the data in the grades were statistically different,and the envy scores in the sophomores were higher than the other three grades(F=3.12,P<0.05).There was a significant statistical difference in gender scores among medical students.The depression score of girls was higher than that of boys(t=-2.75,P<0.05).The difference was significant at the grade level,and the depression score of the senior was higher than the other three grades(F=15.05,P<0.05).3.There is a positive correlation between the use of passive social networking sites and the upward comparison,the correlation coefficient is 0.47;there is a positive correlation with envy,the correlation coefficient is 0.39;there is a positive correlation between the upward comparison and envy,and the correlation coefficient is 0.52.The data showed that there was a mediating effect between the three groups,and the median effect value changed from 0.39 to 0.19(P<0.001).4.There was a positive correlation between the scores of passive social networking sites and depression,and the correlation coefficient was 0.30.The upward comparison was positively correlated with depression,and the correlation coefficient was 0.35.There was a mediating effect between the three groups,and the mediating effect value changed from 0.27 to 0.16(P<0.001).Conclusion1.In this study,medical students had higher scores for envy and depression;2.The use of passive social networking sites by medical students has an effect on envy,and the upward comparison plays a mediating role;3.The use of passive social networking sites by medical students has an impact on depression,and the upward comparison plays a mediating role.
