Objective:In order to understand the effect of PGB and GBP in the treatment of PHN more comprehensively, including the effect of pain control, the improvement of health, quality of life, and the occurrence of adverse reactions, the Meta-analysis of the therapeutic effect comparison of PGB and GBP in the treatment of PHN was introduced in this paper. Methods:The literature of randomized controlled trials(RCTs)and cohort study was searched in PubMed,EMBASE,Cochrane and web of science databases. The literatures ware screened according to the inclusion criteria, and the data of the included studies were extracted. The quality of RCT study and cohort study was evaluated with Cochrane and NOS,and the Meta-analysis was carried out with Revman 5.3 software. Results:A total of 4349 patients in 5 RCT studies and 3 cohort studies were Counted in the paper. The results of meta-analysis showed that compared with GBP,PGB was more effective in reducing the average pain score, more pain days, more days with pain score decreased beyond 30%or 50%compared with baseline, and more helpful to the patient's health.Meanwhile, the adverse reactions of PGB had no significant difference compared with GBP.Conclusion:According to the research results published in foreign journals, compared with GBP,PGB was more effective in PHN treatment and had no significant difference of adverse reactions.Although the results of this Meta-analysis ware consistent with the domestic literature, that the Asian patients included in the research was meaningful for the treatment of PHN patients in China. However, due to the limitations of the quantity and quality of the existing literature,high-quality head-to-head RCT research was still needed to further confirm that PGB was more effective than GBP in PHN treatment.
