Objective:To compare the quality of life on natural orifice specimen extraction surgery(NOSES)for colorectal cancer with those of traditional laparoscopic surgery through a retrospective study.method:Methods:A total of 105 patients admitted to the Gastrointestinal Surgery Department of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University who were diagnosed with colon cancer and rectal cancer underwent natural orifice specimen extraction surgery(NOSES)from April 2017 to October 2019,and compared 92 cases of laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery with auxiliary incision removal specimens during the same period. The EORTCQOL-C30 scale(EORTC:The European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer,QOLC30:Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core 30)was used as a questionnaire to compare the postoperative quality of life of the two groups of patients. Results:There was no statistically significant difference in gender, age, and distribution of chronic diseases associated with patients in the traditional laparoscopic assisted incision surgery group and the NOSES group(P=0.58).In terms of postoperative complications, there was no statistical difference between the NOSES group and the traditional laparoscopic surgery group(P<0.01).In terms of postoperative pathological staging, the NOSES group was different from the traditional laparoscopic surgery group(P<0.01).The pathological stage of the NOSES group was significantly earlier than the traditional laparoscopic group. In the third month after surgery, except for the role function(P=0.04991)and diarrhea(P<0.0001),the remaining symptoms and function differences have disappeared. There was only a difference in diarrhea(P=0.0017)between the two groups at 6 months after operation. At 12 months after surgery, there was no significant difference in quality of life between the two groups. Conclusion:Compared with traditional laparoscopic surgery,NOSES surgery has a certain advantage in the recovery of postoperative role function(P=0.04991)compared with traditional laparoscopic surgery.Six months after the operation, there was a disadvantage in the symptom of diarrhea(P<0.0001),but this disadvantage had completely disappeared by 12 months after the operation. There is no significant difference in the quality of life between the two groups of patients in the short and medium term. The quality of life of the two groups of patients has returned to the preoperative level around 6 months after surgery.
