| purpose:This study was to use CBCT and Invivo Dental5.1 software compare the difference between adult patients with unilateral posterior crossbite and individual normal in temporomandibular joint and mandibular.Analyze the impact of adult patients with unilateral posterior crossbite on temporomandibular joint and mandibular symmetry.Assistance in the treatment of adult patients with unilateral posterior crossbite. Methods:Select 20 adult patients with unilateral posterior crossbite as the experimental group.Select 15 individual normal as the control group.CBCT images of interdigitated cusps of all people using computer cone beam CT.After analysis by Invivo Dental5.1 software. The measurement items are condylar minor axis, condylar major axis, condylar and Amorphous Surface angle, condylar and Amorphous Surface length, superior space, anterior space, posterior space, articular fossa width, articular fossa depth, articular horizontal slope, bottom angle of mandible, mandibular angle, mandibula branch length, mandible length, mandible comprehensive length. The data were entered into SPSS 21.0 software for statistical analysis. The 95%confidence interval was selected. The test level was bilateral a = 0.05.The data were expressed as mean ± standard deviation.Results:(1)Comparing the two sides of the experimental group, the posterior space and bottom angle of mandible crossbite side were larger than normal side, mandible length and mandible comprehensive length were less than normal side.Compared with the control group, there were no differences in temporomandibular joint shape, position and mandibular morphology.(2)Crossbiteside in the experimental group compared with the control group, condylar and Amorphous Surface angle and superior space crossbite side were less than control group, articular fossa width and bottom angle of mandible and mandibular angle were larger than control group.(3)Noncrossbite side in the experimental group compared with the control group, condylar and Amorphous Surface length and superior space normal side were less than control group, articular fossa width and mandibular angle and mandible length and mandible comprehensive length were larger than control group.Conclusions:(1)The shape and position of the temporomandibular joint and the morphology of the mandible on the both side of adult individual normal is basically symmetrical.(2)Asymmetric temporomandibular joint on both sides in the adult patients with unilateral posterior crossbite, articular fossa in such patients appeared adaptive renodeling.(3)Mandibular morphology of adult patients with unilateral posterior crossbite were asymmetry. |
