Objective:To understand the psychological experience of the separation of mother and infant in the elderly women,so as to provide reference for the clinical development of effective nursing measures and promote the health of mother and infant. Methods:In this study, the phenomenological research method in qualitative research was adopted, and 12 premature mothers and infants were selected from a top three hospital in Nanning city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region by objective sampling method.Semi-structured in-depth interview was used to collect data, and the interview recordings were transcribed in time and the interview notes were compiled into texts. At the same time,we will sort out the interview data, analyze the preliminary data and collect the data. When the interview data are repeated and no new theme or sub theme appears,it means that the interview data has reached the saturation state, then the interview will be ended. Then through the 7-step analysis method of Colaizzi phenomenology, the relevant topics are extracted. Results:The age of elderly parturient women was 38.33±2.81 years old(ranging from 35 to 44 years old). The gestational age and weight of 12 premature infants were 34.7±1.3 weeks and 2459.2±225.6 grams.Through the repeated reading, analysis, coding and classification of the interview data of12 premature mothers, the author summarized the topics in five aspects:children, social support system, economic cost, medical service environment and personal needs.Twelve mothers(100%)expressed anxiety about the baby, six mothers(50%)expressed helplessness, four mothers(33.3%)had a strong sense of remorse, and only two(16.7%)mothers were more relaxed about the baby.In the social support system,five(41.7%)of the respondents felt neglected, and seven(58.3%)of the pregnant women in the elderly strongly desired social and family support. In terms of financial costs, seven respondents(58.3%)said they were optimistic.Eleven respondents(91.7%)had a positive attitude towards the services provided by medical staff, but all twelve respondents expressed their disapproval of the visiting system in the neonatal intensive care unit(NICU)of the hospital and hoped to get more opportunities to contact with children.Ten respondents(83.3%)showed a need for breastfeeding,five(41.7%)had a need for maternal role adaptation, and six(50%)and eight(66.7%)had a need for nursing knowledge of premature infants and maternal and child health knowledge. Conclusion: After the separation of mother and baby due to preterm birth, the psychological experience of elderly parturient women is mainly dominated by negative emotions such as worry,helplessness,self-reproach and sense of being neglected. Most of them have the need of nursing knowledge of premature infants and maternal, also need of child health knowledge. The medical staff should pay attention to the inner experience of the elderly mother who separated from premature baby, explore intervention measures from the social, family, medical institution and individual levels, improve the hospital NICU visitation system, reduce the psychological burden of the elderly mother, help the normal transformation of the mother's role, and promote maternal and child health.
