The social network relationship belongs to the personal capital of the residents.On the one hand,the social network shows unique characteristics in China,on the other hand,it also influences the residents' decisions in a subtle way.At present,China's social basic medical insurance has the characteristics of wide coverage,insufficient protection,and excessive proportion of personal medical expenditure.As residents pay more attention to personal health issues,commercial medical insurance is gradually favored by more residents.Therefore,this thesis combines social network theory and social network analysis method,based on the data of China Family Panel Studies(CFPS2018),from the perspective of micro residents,explores and examines the impact of social network relationships and other factors on commercial medical insurance expenditures.By constructing the Tobit model,the influence of social network agent variables on the individual purchase of commercial medical insurance is studied.On this basis,other control variables are added to analyze the factors affecting commercial medical insurance expenditure more comprehensively.After conducting the heterogeneity test,in order to avoid the impact of individual resident's selective bias on the evaluation of social network utility,a propensity score matching method was used to conduct robustness test and try to eliminate endogenousness,in order to explore social network relationship The impact of expenditure.The study found that:(1)Overall,the relatives and courtesy expenditures of residents in China are positively promoting commercial medical insurance expenditures,and neighborhood relations are negatively inhibiting commercial medical insurance expenditures.(2)From the perspective of heterogeneity test,in the high-income group,relatives,friends,and courtesy expenditures are positively promoting commercial medical insurance expenditure.In the low-income group,social network relationship The impact of medical insurance expenditure is even greater.Although residents of the eastern,central,and western regions find differences in the evaluation of medical resources,there is no obvious regional difference in the impact of commercial medical insurance expenditures on social networks.(3)Residents who are female,married,more educated,live in the city,have a larger family size,have higher per capita income,and possess individual characteristics such as housing will have higher commercial medical insurance expenditures and stronger willingness to purchase.(4)The robustness test of the propensity score matching method once again verifies that the social network has a significant impact on the residents' commercial medical insurance expenditure in terms of relative relationship,neighborhood relationship,friend relationship,and courtesy expenditureWith the increasing attention of Chinese residents on health issues and commercial medical insurance,this thesis helps the government and the insurance industry to pay attention to the importance of social networks,so as to better formulate development plans.
