Sun Yikui's Clinical Experience On The Treatment Of Gynecological Diseases

Objective: Sun Yikui was a noted Xin'an doctor in Ming Dynasty.He was famous for the rich experience and significant effect.He played a great role in the development of the theory of Sanjiao and Mingmen,and was a great master of traditional Chinese medicine with high theoretical and clinical attainments.Sun's works include thirty volumes of Chishui Xuanzhu,two volumes of Yizhi Xuyu and five volumes of Sun Wenyuan Medical Record.Through literature review,this study analyzes Sun Yikui's works and summarizes his experience in the treatment of gynecological diseases,which is expected to provide reference for gynecology using traditional Chinese medicine.Methods: 1.Traditional literature research methods: using the methods of bibliography and edition in traditional literature research,to comb the main works of Sun Yikui.2.Inductive analysis method: based on the literature of doctors' works,medical cases and related papers,summarizing and analyzing Sun Yikui's ideas on the treatment of gynecological diseases.3.Medical case analysis methods: based on the medical cases,analyzing the clinical experience of Sun Yikui on menstrual diseases,leucorrhea diseases,pregnancy diseases,postpartum diseases and miscellaneous diseases.Results: 1.The general ideas of Sun Yikui's treatment on gynecological diseases are as follows.(1)The treatment of gynecological diseases should root on governing the blood.(2)Gynecopathy should be treated from the two meridians of liver and spleen.(3)Supplementing spleen and stomach should be emphasized in the treatment.2.Sun Yikui had the following characteristics in the treatment of gynecological diseases.(1)Menstrual diseases: He took Yin and Yang as the program,treated diseases based on examining the causes,and emphasized recuperating the liver and spleen.From the point of view of viscera,he paid attention to tonifying the spleen and stomach to produce Qi and blood,leading to normal menstruation.Also,the roles of the heart,liver,lung and kidney were well regarded.(2)Leucorrhea diseases: He took the five viscera into account,not limited to govern the belt vessel,and determine the location according to the color.There were four ways to cure them: clearing,supplementing,astringing and passing.(3)Fetal pregnancy disease: He paid equal attention to the treatment of the parent disease and the safety of the fetus,and used the medicine lightly.(4)Postpartum disease: Compiling with the ancient law,he advocated “not confine to postpartum,not forget postpartum”,and treated diseases from the aspects of deficiency and stasis.(5)Vulvar disease: He comprehensively applied the internal and external treatment,using various dosage forms.(6)Miscellaneous diseases: He followed Zhongjing's law of syndrome differentiation,and treated diseases with Jing Fang.Conclusion: Sun Yikui,a well-known doctor of Xin'an,had unique ideas and clinical experience in the treatment of gynecological diseases,which can be used as reference in the clinical treatment of gynecological diseases in traditional Chinese medicine.
