Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of modified Xifeng Zhidong Decoction for treatment of tic disorder(TD)children with syndrome of wind stirring due to exogenous wind-evil;Methods:64 children with tic disorder(induced by external wind)were randomly divided into observation group and control group with 32 cases in each group. In the observation group, children were treated with modified Xifeng Zhidong Decoction, one dosage a day, twice a day, orally. In the control group,TD children were treated with haloperidol,0.03 mg/(kg·d),orally,according to the symptom to adjust dose, and the maximum amount did not exceed 0.08 mg/(kg·d).1 w was a treatment course for both groups. The treatment lasted for three courses. Before and after 3 weeks of clinical observation, the severity of disease was evaluated by TCM syndrome and Yale Global Tic Severity Scale(YGTSS)score.Clinical efficacy and TCM syndrome efficacy were evaluated;the adverse reactions were observed. Results:The total effective rate of clinical efficacy was 84.375%(27 / 32)in the observation group and 81.25%(26 / 32)in the control group. There was no significant difference between the two groups(x2 = 0.11,P > 0.05).The total effective rate of TCM syndrome efficacy in the observation group was 93.75%(30 / 32)and that in the control group was 75%(24 / 32).The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(x2 = 4.27,P < 0.05).Compared with the group before treatment, there was significant difference before and after treatment, indicating that the treatment of the observation group and the control group had significant effect(P< 0.01);The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05),which showed that the observation group was better than the control group in the aspect of TCM efficacy. There were mild diarrhea(3 cases),in the observation group, and obvious lethargy and dizziness(10 cases)in the control group. Conclusion:Modified Xifeng Zhidong Decoction shows obvious effects for treating TD,and the adverse reactions were less.
