Objactive: To explore the clinical effect of open preperitoneal space repair and Lichtenstein operation on elderly unilateral inguinal hernia.Method: Collected the data of patients undergoing open preperitoneal space repair and Lichtenstein repair in the General Surgery of the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from September 2018 to October 2019.Comparison of general clinical data,postoperative complications,recurrence,chronic Pain and other indicators.Result: There was no significant difference in the average hospital stay between the two groups of patients(p =0.55),the difference in the average operation time was statistically significant(p = 0.01),and there was no significant statistical difference in the mean intraoperative bleeding(p =0.55).There were no significant differences in incision infection,seroma,scrotal edema,chronic pain,and recurrence in the two groups(p> 0.05).There were statistically significant differences in VAS pain score,foreign body sensation in the operation area,and the total number of postoperative complications on the first postoperative day(p<0.05).Discusssion: There was no significant difference in the average hospital stay between the two groups of patients(p = 0.55),the difference in the average operation time was statistically significant(p = 0.01),and there was no significant statistical difference in the mean intraoperative bleeding(p = 0.55).There were no significant differences in incision infection,seroma,scrotal edema,chronic pain,and recurrence in the two groups(p>0.05).There were statistically significant differences in VAS pain score,foreign body sensation in the operation area,and the total number of postoperative complications on the first postoperative day(p <0.05).
