Objective: Colorectal cancer(CRC)is one of the most common digestive malignancies in humans, ranking second among cancer-related causes of death.Globally, approximately 8.5 percent of all cancer patients die each year due to CRC.The incidence of these patients is often hidden, early diagnosis rate is low, late mortality is high, which poses a serious threat to human health. For further improvement of CRC early diagnosis rate and assessment,it is of great clinical significance to further explore the methods of diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of prognosis. This paper intends to explore the clinical value of combined detection of serum superoxide dismutase(SOD)and alkaline phosphatase(ALP)in diagnosis and treatment of CRC patients. Methods: By retrospective investigation,a total of 95 patients with colon cancer and65 patients with colon polyps(control group)were collected from September 2017 to July 2019.All patients were determined by Beckman Coulter AU5800 automatic biochemical analyzer. The patients' name, sex, age, diagnosis, staging, surgical treatment and distant metastasis were recorded by checking the records.Based on the data, serum T-SOD(total SOD)and T-ALP(total ALP)value in colon cancer patients and colon polyp patients were compared. To further analyze the correlation between T-SOD and T-ALP and provide a certain basis for the evaluation of patients with colon cancer by the two indexes, the data of the patients with colon cancer were analyzed according to their clinical characteristics.Meanwhile,ROC curves were made to show the AUC,the optimal boundary value, sensitivity and specificity of the two indexes. This result may provide some reference value for the diagnosis of colon cancer.Results:(1)The serum T-SOD level(138.76±20.605KU/L)in patients with colon cancer was lower than that(181.26±28.712KU/L)in patients with colon polyps(t-value10.903,P<0.01),and the serum T-ALP level(132.71±66.882U/L)in patients with colon cancer was higher than that(67.75±19.095U/L)in patients with colon polyps(t-value8.948,P<0.01).(2)In colon cancer group, serum T-SOD levels of TNM stage ? patients higher than that of ? period patients(P<0.05).Serum T-SOD levels in patients receiving surgical treatment was higher than that in patients without surgical treatment(P<0.05).Serum T-SOD level in patients with distant metastasis was lower than that inpatients without distant metastasis(P<0.05).T-SOD and T-ALP levels were not associated with age, sex, and tumor site in colon cancer patients(P>0.05).T-ALP level was not associated with clinical stage and surgery in colon cancer patients(P>0.05),but it elevated in patients with distant metastasis, with no significant difference compared with those without distant metastasis(P>0.05).(3)On the basis of the ROC analysis,AUC of serum T-SOD was 0.919 and the optimal cut-off value based on the Youden index was 147.5KU/L,with a sensitivity of 98.5% and a specificity of 71.6%.Based on ROC analysis,AUC of serum T-ALP was 0.889.According to the Youden index, the optimal cut-off value was 93.5U/L,the sensitivity was 72.6% and the specificity was90.8%.(4)The correlation between serum T-SOD and T-ALP levels was negative in the colon cancer group(P<0.05).According to the ROC analysis, the AUC of serum T-ALP/T-SOD was 0.937.According to the Youden index, the optimal cut-off value was0.58,the sensitivity was 81.1%,and the specificity was 96.9%.Conclusion: The combined detection of serum T-SOD and T-ALP levels may have certain clinical significance in the diagnosis and disease assessment of colon cancer patients.
