Meta Analysis Of Therapeutic Effect Of TCM Constitution Identification Intervention Measures On Essential Hypertension

Objective: To evaluate the effect of TCM Constitution identification and intervention measures on blood pressure control in patients with essential hypertension by using meta analysis method,so as to provide evidence support for the application of TCM Constitution identification and intervention measures in the treatment of essential hypertension.Methods: the RCT literatures about the treatment of essential hypertension by traditional Chinese medicine were compared with those by traditional western medicine.The retrieval date is from the establishment of the database to December 31,2018.According to the set criteria of literature inclusion and exclusion,the relevant literature was selected.Then the relevant research data are extracted from the literature included in the study,and the literature quality is evaluated according to the requirements of Cochrane reviewer's Handbook version 5.3,and the meta analysis is carried out with Revman 5.3software.Results: A total of 11 articles meeting the requirements were included,and 1347 primary hypertension patients(669 in the experimental group and 678 in the control group)were enrolled in the group.Compared with the control group,the combination of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine can improve the antihypertensive efficiency of hypertension patients [RR = 1.16,95% CI(1.08,1.24),P < 0.0001].Sensitivity analysis indicated that the results were stable.Funnel chart test showed no significant publication bias.Among them,two articles compared the curative effect of TCM syndrome,compared with the control group,TCM Constitution identificationintervention combined with conventional western medicine can improve the TCM syndrome of hypertension patients [RR = 1.23,95% CI(1.11,1.37),P = 0.0002].Conclusion: Compared with conventional western medicine,TCM Constitution identification intervention combined with conventional western medicine has some advantages in antihypertensive effect,which can significantly improve the efficiency of antihypertensive.It can also improve the curative effect of TCM syndromes in patients with hypertension.However,higher quality randomized controlled trials are needed to enhance the persuasiveness of the evidence,and the results of this meta-analysis should be treated with caution.
