Observation Of Curative Effect Of 3D Printing Assisted Preformed Bone Plates In The Treatment Of Adult Acetabular Fractures

Abstract/Summary:
Objective: To use 3D printing technology and preformed bone plates for the treatment of adult patients with acetabular fractures and observe the surgical efficacy of the patients.Methods: A retrospective analysis of 28 adult acetabular fracture patients treated at Chenzhou First People’s Hospital from January 2017 to August 2019.According to whether 3D printing technology is used,the patients were divided into the experimental group(3D printing group)and the control group(Traditional surgery group),with 14 cases in each group.In the experimental group,the pelvic acetabular model and preformed bone plates was manufactured by 3D printing technology before surgery for preoperative planning and simulation exercises.In the control group,14 patients were relied on traditional imaging data for surgical planning before surgery.Afterwards,observed and recorded the data of the operation time,surgical volume of blood loss,fluoroscopy druing operation times,Matta fracture reduction quality,Visual analogue score before and one week after surgery,Merle D’Aubigne and Postel scores after 6 months surgery and postoperative complications.Result: All 28 patients in the two groups were effectively followed for 6-18 months,with an average follow-up time of(12.64±4.99)months.The preoperative general information of the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The operation time,surgical volume of blood loss and fluoroscopy druing operation times were statistically significant in both groups(P <0.05).The Matta fracture reduction quality,Visual analogue score before and one week after surgery,Merle D’Aubigne and Postel scores of after 6 months surgery were not statistically significant in both groups(P>0.05).No obvious complications such as infection of the incision,neurovascular injury,deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremity,heterotopic ossification and traumatic arthritis occurred in both groups.Conclusion: Preoperative application of 3D printing technology to assist preformed bone plates in the treatment of adult patients with acetabular fractures,compared with traditional empirical surgery,can significantly reduce the operation time,surgical volume of blood loss,fluoroscopy druing operation times.It can reduce the difficulty of surgery and improve the safety of surgery.
