ObjectiveThree assisted expectoration methods were applied to the airway care of newborn patients with low birth weight on mechanical ventilation.The effects of the three methods on pH value,PaO2,PaCO2,SPO2,HR,sputum removal volume,sputum removal efficiency and complications after sputum removal were compared.Mechanical ventilation and hospital time was also compared.The aim of this study was to provide a basis to select the optimal backknocking method for the airway care of newborn patients with low birth weight.MethodsNewborn patients with low birth weight received mechanical ventilation treatment in the first affiliated hospital of certain university from December2018 to November 2019 were selected as the research object.According to the patients admitted to hospital sequence number,they were randomly divided into three groups with 40 cases in each group.Using three methods of knocking back row of phlegm for three groups of newborn patients,pH value,PaO2,PaCO2,SPO2,HR,sputum removal volume,sputum removal efficiency and complications after sputum removal,and mechanical ventilation and hospital time were compared.SPSS 19.0 was used to entry and processing of data,the meanąstandard deviation?ąS?or forming than statistics describe the data,using t test,one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey's multiple comparison test and?2 test for statistical analysis.Results?1?There was no significant difference in pH value among three groups?P>0.05?.?2?Compared with 10 min before backbeating,PaO2 10 min after sputum discharge was significantly elevated among three groups?P<0.05?.PaO2 was higher 10 min after sputum in electric toothbrush tapping group as compared to suscitation mask group?P<0.05?.?3?In comparison with 10min before sputum beating,PaCO2 was significantly decreased among three groups?P<0.05?.PaCO2 was lower 10min after sputum in electric toothbrush tapping group than suscitation mask group and unarmed backstroke group.Also,PaCO2 was decreased in electric toothbrush backstroke group compared with unarmed backstroke group?P<0.05?.?4?In comparison with 10min before sputum beating,SPO2 was significantly decreased in the back tapping process of unarmed backstroke group and suscitation mask group?P<0.05?.SPO2 was higher 10 min after sputum than 10min before sputum beating in electric toothbrush tapping group?P<0.05?.Compared with unarmed backstroke group and suscitation mask group,SPO2 was significantly increased in the back tapping process and 10min after sputum of electric toothbrush backstroke group?P<0.05?.?5?In comparison with 10min before sputum beating,HR was significantly increased in the back tapping process of unarmed backstroke group and suscitation mask group?P<0.05?.HR was lower 10 min after sputum than 10min before sputum beating in electric toothbrush tapping group?P<0.05?.Compared with unarmed backstroke group and suscitation mask group,HR was significantly decreased in the back tapping process and 10 min after sputum of electric toothbrush backstroke group?P<0.05?.?6?The effective sputum removal rate was higher in electric toothbrush backstroke group than unarmed backstroke group and suscitation mask group?P<0.05?.?7?On days 1,3 and 5 after sputum beating treatment,the sputum removal volume average was higher in electric toothbrush backstroke group than unarmed backstroke group and suscitation mask group?P<0.05?.Meanwhile,a significant increase of sputum removal volume average was observed in electric toothbrush backstroke group compared with suscitation mask group?P<0.05?.?8?Mechanical ventilation time and mean hospital stays in electric toothbrush backstroke group and suscitation mask group was shorter than those of unarmed backstroke group?P<0.05?.At the same time,there was a significant decrease of above indicators in electric toothbrush backstroke group compared with suscitation mask group?P<0.05?.?9?The complication incidence was lower in electric toothbrush backstroke group than unarmed backstroke group and suscitation mask group?P<0.05?.Conclusions?1?Three back-beating sputum removal methods can improve the respiratory function of newborn patients with low birth weight to some extent.?2?The efficacy of electric toothbrush backknocking is better than resuscitation mask,which is superior to unarmed backstroke.Electric toothbrush backknocking can be considered as the optimal backknocking method in newborn patients with low birth weight received mechanical ventilation treatment.
