Research On Ability Present Situation And Its Influcening Factors Among Elderly In Henan Province

ObjectiveThrough evaluating the multi-dimensional ability of the elderly in Henan Province,the ability status and influencing factors are explored to provide a basis for government departments and relevant service agencies to formulate health promotion plans for the elderly,and to lay the measurement of long-term care insurance demand.MethodsIn this study,a multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling method was adopted to select 6014 elderly people from 18 provincial cities in Henan Province for ability assessment.Statistical description,rank sum test and Gamma method were used to describe the levels of the elderly's ability in different dimensions based on the integrated data.Ordered multi-class logistic regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of the elderly's ability.Results1.Basic situation of the elderly:Of the 5378 elderly people included,2656 were male were male(49.39%)and 2722 were female(50.61%).The average age of the elderly was(70.88±7.82)years.The number of people with primary school education was the most,1931(35.91%).Married elderly people were 4080(75.86%).The number of people living with their spouses was 3144(58.46%).The proportion of the elderly whose monthly income was less than 1000 yuan was the highest,reaching 55.88%.2.The ability levels of the elderly:In the evaluation of the ability levels of the elderly,there were 2615 people with good comprehensive ability,accounting for 48.62%,and 2763 people with varying degrees of disability,accounting for 51.38%.Among them,2141 were mildly disabled,accounting for 39.81%,405 were moderately disabled,accounting for 7.53%,and 217 were severely disabled,accounting for 4.04%.The elderly's daily activity impairment rate was 23.08%,the mental state dimension impairment rate was 40.81%,the perception and communication impairment rate was 23.80%,and the social participation impairment rate was 20.10%.3.Influencing factors of the elderly's ability:age,education level,living condition,economic income,disability,dementia,mental illness,number of chronic diseases and the occurrence of accidents in the past 3 months were important factors affecting the ability of the elderly.Conclusions1.In Henan Province,the elderly's ability level is not optimistic,with a disability rate is high.2.The ability level of the elderly in Henan Province is affected by many factors.Age is an irreversible factor affecting the ability level of the elderly.The higher the age,the higher the disability rate and the degree of disability;Older people have different levels of ability in different living conditions;Educational level and economic income are protective factors;Disability,dementia,mental illness,and accidents within the past 3 months are important risk factors.The number of chronic diseases also affects the ability level of the elderly,and the phenomenon of comorbidities should be paid more attention to.
