In recent years, the number of diabetic patients in China is increasing, which brings heavy burden to the family and society.Diabetic foot is one of the most serious complications of diabetes mellitus. If it can not be detected or treated early,it will bring great harm to the patients.By measuring the plantar pressure of diabetes mellitus patients, abnormal plantar pressure can be screened for pressure ulcers. At the same time,it can provide users with specific physiological and pathological parameters for the design of shoes accessories for diabetic patients. In addition.it can promote the design of such products more reasonable in ergonomics. The foot pressure and gait characteristics of diabetic patients in natural walking are studied in this paper. The sample consisted of 173 people,11 8 of whom were diabetic patients from metabolic hospitals and 55 were randomly selected as healthy controls. They were divided into three groups:Normal Control(NC),Diabetes Mellitus(DM)and Diabetic Foot(DF).The experimental instrument mainly adopts the shoe sole foot pressure measurement system. The sole of the foot is divided into ten zones:the lateral heel(HL),the middle heel(HC),the medial heel(HM),the middle foot(MF),the first to fifth metatarsal(1-5 Metartasal,M1-M5),and the toe(Toe,T).SPSS and Matlab were used to analyze the symmetry, the gender difference and the difference between two groups of the mean pressure, peak pressure and impulse percentage. The related parameters of walking speed, step frequency, gait cycle and pressure center trajectory(COP)were analyzed. The correlation between several commonly used anthropometric parameters and plantar pressure parameters in diabetic patients was analyzed. The main conclusions were as follows:Comparing the plantar pressure parameters between diabetic and healthy subjects, the regions with significant symmetry differences were concentrated in HL,HC and T regions. The regions with significant gender differences were concentrated in HM,M1,M4 and M5 regions(P<0.5).Compared with NC group, the percentage of high pressure(%Sh)in mean pressure distribution increased in DM group, and the area of high pressure in forefoot area increased significantly. The differences of impulse percentage and peak pressure were mainly in HM,ME,M4 and M5 area, and the percentage of peak pressure and impulse in DM and DF group were significantly higher than that in NC group(P<0.5).There were significant differences in gait cycle and frequency between DM group and NC group. The swing phase increased significantly, the standing phase decreased significantly, and the step frequency decreased significantly.BMI,waist circumference and hip circumference were positively correlated with plantar peak pressure(r>0).This study summarized the different foot areas and trends among the subjects, and summarized the distribution of foot pressure in each group. It provided a strong experimental basis for the clinical prevention and treatment of diabetic foot, and provided data for the design of diabetic foot orthodontic footwear and other industrial design of lower limb rehabilitation aids.
