Diabetes mellitus is a clinical syndrome caused by the compound etiology of genetic and environmental factors. At present, its etiology and pathogenesis are still not fully elucidated, which is a serious threat to human health worldwide public health problems, causing great physical pain and psychological negative effects on individuals. With the change of modern medical model, clinical research begins to change from physical and mental perspective to how to maintain health. In recent years, the development of positive psychology has brought more attention to the concern that diabetic patients are not only manifested as negative emotions, some patients experience individual growth and psychological positive changes in the course of the disease, and post-traumatic growth is one of the positive changes. The combination of quantitative research and qualitative research in this study, through questionnaires and qualitative interviews two methods to study the post-traumatic growth of diabetic patients and its influencing factors,in order to provide theoretical support for the clinical development and intervention of patients after post-traumatic growth. The quantitative study surveyed 129 diabetic patients using the general demographic data questionnaire of diabetic patients, the Posttraumatic Growth Inventory(PTGI),the general self-efficacy scale(GSES),the Perceived social support scale(PSSS),The Summary of diabetes self-care activities(SDSCA),and the Connor-Davidson Resilience(CD-RISC).The specific findings are as follows:(1)Diabetic patients have undergone different degrees of post-traumatic growth, diabetic patients of post-traumatic growth is at a moderate level.(2)Urban diabetes mellitus compared with rural patients after post-traumatic growth, married patients after the post-traumatic growth than unmarried, divorced, widowed patients with higher levels of growth. At the same time, the younger the patient, the higher the score of post-traumatic growth, and as the age increases, the patient experiences thepost-traumatic growth will be reduced. The survey found that there was no significant difference in age between post-traumatic growth scores, but the younger the patients were, the more new possibilities, mental changes and appreciation of life would be shown, which would instead weaken as they age.(3)This study not only found that social support can directly and positively predict the growth of patients after trauma, that is,the higher the degree of social support, the higher the level of post-traumatic growth.social support can indirectly affect post-traumatic growth by enhancing the resilience of patients, that is,social support promotes the post-traumatic growth of patients through the mediation variable of resilience.(4)The study found that under the dual role of social support and self-efficacy,the resilience of patients will be higher, when the resilience is higher, will show more post-traumatic growth, that is,social support in turn through self-efficacy,resilience to play a serial mediation, affecting the patient's post-traumatic growth.(5)The results of the survey found that social support does not have an impact on the post-traumatic growth of diabetics through self-management of this single mediation variable. But the higher the social support the patient receives, the higher the level of self-efficacy,the better the individual's self-management level may be,and the patient may exhibit a higher level of post-traumatic growth. That is,social support through self-efficacy,self-management to play a serial mediation, affecting the patient's post-traumatic growth. The results of qualitative study found that the influencing factors of post-traumatic growth of diabetic patients mainly included internal influencing factors and external influencing factors, internal influencing factors including coping style,self-perception and strategy use, external influencing factors including knowledge acquisition, social support, health care.Internal and external influences are an interactive system in which the economy and character regulate the whole system.
