Prevalence And Related Factors Of Dry Eye In Primary School Pupils In Lanzhou

Objective:By investigating the condition of dry eye in primary school pupils in Lanzhou,Gansu Province,we know the prevalence of dry eye among pupils of different nationalities and grades in Lanzhou area,and explore the related risk factors affecting the occurrence of dry eye,so as to actively prevent the occurrence of dry eye among pupils and provide new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye.Methods: From October to November 2017,1347 pupils in two primary schools in Lanzhou,Gansu Province,were randomly selected as subjects.Every pupil was carried on the questionnaire of dry eye,including basic information,subjective symptoms of the eye,eye habits,study habits,etc;and perform relevant eye examinations,including vision,break-up time,Schirmer test,etc;All questionnaires were collected on site,and the results were filled out and checked on the spot.Then Epidata3.0 software was used to enter the survey data in parallel.SPSS20.0 statistical software was used to apply the chi-square test,Kruskal-Wallis H test,logistic regression analysis and other statistics.Methods To investigate the current status and influencing factors of dry eye in pupils.Results: A total of 1268 pupils took part in this study and the inclusion ratio was 94.14%;271 individuals were diagnosed as dry eye,and the prevalence rate was 21.37%.Among all the investigated population,517 pupils had dry eye symptoms,accounting for 40.77% of the total population.Eye fatigue was the most common symptom of dry eye among pupils.Statistical analysis showed that the risk factors of dry eye were male,senior pupils,often using eye drops,poor reading habits,wearing contact lenses,video terminals last for a long time,learning pressure.Conclusion:Dry eye has become one of the main diseases that plagued pupil's life and learning,Attention should be paid by health and education departments;improving eye habits,proper use of eye drops,moderate use of video terminal electronic products,and reducing learning pressure can alleviate the damage of dry eye of pupils.At the same time,it is recommended that education,health and related departments strengthen the prevention and treatment of dry eye prevention and regular inspection of both eyes in order to prevent and slow down the occurrence of dry eye.
