Study On The Regularity Of Syndrome Differentiation And Treatment Of Damp-heat Disease In Wu Jutong's " Wenbing Tiaobian "

Wu Jutong was born in Huaian of Jiangsu Province,whose given name is Tang.He was one of the four outstanding scientists of science of epidemic febrile disease of traditional Chinese medicine in Qing dynasty.His works include "Wen Bing Tiao Bian","Wu Jutong case" and "Yiyi Bingshu",which the most classical works of the field is "Wen Bing Tiao Bian".It is a landmark immortal work in the study of febrile diseases in traditional Chinese medicine.This paper is mainly based on "Wen Bing Tiao Bian",in order to study Wu Jutong's characteristics of syndrome differentiation and treatment of damp-heat disease.Wu Jutong's thought of syndrome differentiation and demonstration of damp-heat disease mainly originated from "Huang Di Nei Jing" and "Nan Jing".On the basis of these two masterpieces and inspired by Wu Youke's "Wen Yin Lun",he inherited the theory of Ye Tianshi's and Xue Shengbai's and summarized the theory of himself.As a epidemiologist of febrile diseases,he created the theoretical system of TCM triple energizer syndrome differentiation which spleen and stomach diseases as the center.Wu thought that febrile diseases can be divided into 9 kinds,8 kinds of them was divided in terms of season and disease manifestation,and the other kind of them was a highly infectious disease said by Wu.According to the season and the charasteristics of the disease,febrile diseases can be divided into two categories: warm heat and damp heat.Warm heat is a pure heat without dampness,which includes wind-warm syndrome,warm heatdisease,the plague,warm toxin disease,winter-warm syndrome and autumn dryness disease.Damp heat is a damp and hot with dampness disease,which includes warm disease insummer,damp-warm syndrome and Latent summer heat.Wu emphasized the differences between the syndrome differentiation and treatment of warm-heat and damp-heat.In the clinical differentiation and treatment of damp-heat,we should not abuse the rule of warming-heat to treat damp-heat.This paper mainly studies the rule of syndrome differentiation andthe treatment of damp-heat disease.Wu's damp-heat disease syndrome differentiation first focused on triple energizer syndrome differentiation,then focused on the deficiency and excess of a disease.Firstly,the location of the disease should be determined by triple energizer syndrome differentiation.When using the medicine,it can directly reduce the pain caused by the disease.Secondly,the degree of dampness and heat can be distinguished to determine the urgency of treatment.Finally,discerning the deficiency and the excess could enable doctors to have an intuitive understanding of the patient's illness.The methods of damp-heat disease treatments in the dialect in "Wen Bing Tiao Bian" are mainly divided into two categories: the positive situation of damp-heat disease and the differentiation and treatment of its changes.The therapeutic method of damp-heat disease are divided into triple energizer syndrome differentiation method,heat-clearing method and desorption surface method,heat clearing and collaterals penetrating method,lung and qi opening and publicizing method,membrane reaching method,xuantong meridian method,tongxia expelling yellow method,aromatization and dampness method,xuanqing and turbidity guiding method.The change of treatment is divided into dysentery treatment,malaria treatment,jaundice treatment and bi syndrome treatment,which is associated with the disorder of water and liquid metabolism.Wu Jutong's greatness not only lies in his initiation of the theory of triple energizer syndrome differentiation but also in his theoretical thoughts and the influence of the system of syndrome differentiation and treatment on later generations,which greatly reflects Wu Jutong's academic status in the field of febrile diseases.In the late Qing Dynasty,Wang Mengying inherited the theory and made the school of febrile diseases more perfect and systematic.
