Objective: To compare and analyze the efficacy and pregnancy outcome of metformin combined with insulin in the treatment of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM).Methods: Sixty patients with gestational diabetes mellitus who were admitted to Obstetrics and endocrine wards and clinics of Shengjing Hospital affiliated to China Medical University from October 2014 to December 2018 were selected as subjects. This study was retrospectively studied.According to the treatment plan,30 cases were divided into group A(metformin combined with insulin treatment group)and 30 cases in group B(insulin treatment group alone). All patients continued to take the drug for 4 weeks.Fasting blood glucose and postprandial 2h blood glucose before and after treatment were compared between the two groups, and the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes was compared. Results: Fasting blood glucose and postprandial 2h blood glucose were lower in both groups after treatment, and the decrease in group A was more significant than that in group B(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of cesarean section,pregnancy-induced hypertension, premature rupture of membranes and macrosomia between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion: Metformin combined with insulin is effective in the treatment of gestational diabetes without increasing the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes.
