Objectives:To assess the applicability and efficacy of“Motivational&Cognitive Behavioral”group therapy for mental health of Female Amphetamine-Type Stimulants Users via a random controll trial.Methods:1.Study design:A random controll trial,in which participants were divided into two groups:intervention group,which accepte 16 week group and routine activiies in compulsory isolated detoxification center;control group,which just accepted routine activiies in compulsory isolated detoxification center.2.Assessment Instruments:The general demographic information,Alcohol,Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test(ASSIST),Self-rating depression scale(SDS),Self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES),Stages of Change Readiness and Treatment Eagerness Scale(SOCRATES),Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCQ)and Abstinence Skill Questionnaire were assessed during baseline,8 weeks,16 weeks,and the intervention group accept psychological interview about the effect of group therapy at 16 weeks.3.Via SPSS version 17.0,utilizing descriptive statistics,Chi-square test,Independent t test,one-factor ANOVA,repeated ANOVA,paired t-test etc.0.05 was chosen as the threshold of significant differences.Results:1.General information:Between-group significant differences were not found in personality type,education level,marriage status,remaining duration and monthly income(p>0.05);Between-group significant differences were not found in age,the ATS onset age,frequency of use,average period of drug use,and so on(p>0.05).2.Primary outcome:Before the intervention,the scores of depression between the two groups were not significant(p>0.05),and50%of participants have depression,60%were intervention group,41%were control group;but after the 16 weeks intervention,the intervention group had a significantly lower depression scores than the control group(p<0.05),the depression proportion of control group significantly higher than intervention group(58.6%vs 25%,p<0.05);the repeated measures analysis of variance show the two group in time_*effect are significant different(p<0.05).3.Secondary outcome:(1)Before the intervention,there were not significant difference in scores of anxiety between the two groups(p>0.05),and 23.8%of participants have anxiety,25.0%were control group,32.0%were intervention group;after the 16 weeks intervention,the intervention group had lower anxiety scores than the control group,52.6%of control group have anxiety,26.1%of intervention group have anxiety,but there were not significant difference(p>0.05);the repeated measures analysis of variance show the two group in time_*effect are significant different(p<0.05).(2)there were not significant difference in scores of self-efficacy between the two groups at baseline and after the16 weeks intervention(p>0.05);the repeated measures analysis of variance show the two group in time_*effect are not significant different(p>0.05).(3)there were not significant difference in scores of change readiness and three factorially-derived scale scores(p>0.05),after the 16weeks intervention,except Ambivalence scores of the intervention group were significantly higher than the control group(p<0.05),there were not significant difference in other scores;the repeated measures analysis of variance show the two group in time*effect are not significant different(p>0.05).(4)Before the intervention,the scores of abstinence skill between the two groups were not significant(p>0.05),but after the 16 weeks intervention,the scores of intervention group were significantly higher than the control group(p<0.05);the repeated measures analysis of variance show the two group in time_*effect are significant different(p<0.05).4.serviceability of the group therapy:participants suspects that the group therapy can provide support and hope for them,make them express their emotions freely,experience the cohesion of group,and they will to continue to participate in treatment.Conclusions:The serviceability of motivational&cognitive behavioral”group were well,it can improve depression,anixety and abstinence skills of female amphetamine-type stimulants users,which should be popularized.
