Objectives(1)To explore the correlation between the level of sCys C during the early period after trauma patients' admission and the level of BUN,sCr and eGFR.(2)To explore the level of sCys C and the prognosis.(3)To explore the correlation between the development of AKI and the prognosis. Methods 160 trauma patients were enrolled from January,2016 to February,2017 in EICU.The concentration of sCys C was tested within the first 24 h after admission. The correlation between the level of sCys C and BUN,sCr and eGFR was compared. The correlation between the level of sCys C and the development of AKI and the prognosis were also analyzed.Results(1)The level of sCys C during the early period after trauma patients' admission was found positively correlated with the level of BUN(r=0.272)and sCr(r=0.297)(p<0.05),but negatively correlated with estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)(r=-0.249,p<0.05).The correlation was still significant after controlling sex, age,ISS,mean arterial pressure,Hb,Hct,Alb,WBC,N and L.(2)The incidence of AKI and MODS and the use of mechanical ventilation among patients with higher level of sCys C(p<0.05).(3)The incidence of MODS among patients who developed AKI was much higher than those who didn't develop AKI(p<0.05).Those who developed AKI were more reliable on mechanical ventilation than the others(p<0.05).Conclusions(1)The level of sCys C during the early period after trauma patients' admission was correlated with renal function and varied earlier than BUN,sCr and eGFR.(2)The level of sCys C shew its value for evaluation of the risk of AKI and MODS development and the need of mechanical ventilation among trauma patients.(3)Trauma patients who developed AKI were at higher risk of worse prognosis.
