| Objective To compare the postoperative seizure outcomes of patients with temporal lobe epilepsy with hippocampal sclerosis(TLE-HS)undergoing anterior temporal lobectomy(ATL)or selective amygdalohippocampectomy(SAH).Methods We collected 22 patients with TLE-HS treated in Ningxia Medical University General Hospital Neurosurgery Department from 2010 to 2017.15 patients had ATL,and 7patients underwent SAH.Postoperative seizure outcomes were assessed using Engel’s scale.Using SPSS19.0 statistical software to analysis data.Results There was no significant difference between ATL group and SAH group in gender,age,course of disease,surgical side and age of operation.The satisfaction(Engel Ⅰ)percentage of postoperative seizure outcomes in ATL group was73.3%,and SAH group was57.1%.There was no significant difference in the seizure outcome between the two groups(P= 0.630).Conclusion Both ATL and SAH are effective treatments for temporal lobe epilepsy with hippocampal sclerosis.The seizure outcomes is not different between ATL and SAH. |
