Mediator is an evolutionarily conserved multisubunit coactivator complex that is recruited by transcriptional factors to control diverse gene programs in response to developmental or environmental signals.Stimulated by environmental and developmental signals, specific Mediator subunits interact with different transcription factors, form the pre-initiation complex, and regulate gene expression. Here,we report that Mediator subunit MED23 is required for cartilage development.Ablation of Med23 at mesenchymal stem cell stage leads to impaired bone formation and decreased bone mass in mice.By observing the change of the development of cartilage research Med23 role in bone growth. Our previous studies have showed that mediator subunit MED23 play the role of osteoblast differentiation and bone development and thus provides molecular insight into the pathology of the cartilage development. |
