Objective:In order to understand and master the current status trends and the nutritional status of school-age children's physical developmalet in Baota District,Yan'an City,to promote the healthy development of primary school students in our district, and to formulate a reference for nutrition and preventive health care of school-age children in relevant health department of the region. Methods : Five clusters of primary schools were selected from the east, southern, west, north and middle of Baota District,Yan'an City, using a dustor random sampling method.Height, weight, height, head circumference, chest circumference and waist circumference were measured for 4329 students.Analyzed the data.and compared it with the physical development data of school-age children in China in 2005.Understand the physical development status and long-term trends of primary school students in our city.Results:1.The effective number of this survey was 4329 cases, including 2222 boys, accounting for 51.3%,boy 2107 cases, accounting for 48.7%,and ratio boy to girl of is1.05:1.2.Physical development index results:(1)Height:The average height of boy in all age groups of 2.6-9 years old was higher than that of girl of the same age group. The gender differences of each group were statistically significant(p<0.05).There was no significant difference in the average height of boy and girl in all age groups between 10~12 years old.Statistical significance(p>0.05);(2)Body weight:Except for the statistical significance of gender difference in the 7-year,11-year-old and 12-year-old groups(p>0.05),the average weight of the boy in the other groups was higher than that in the same age group, and the gender difference was statistically significant(p<0.05),Body weight was highly correlated with waist circumference, upper arm circumference and abdominal sebum thickness, with significant difference(p<0.01);(3)Waistline:The average waist circumference of male in all age groups was higher than that of female in the same age group, and the gender differences in each group were statistically significant(p<0.05);(4)Bust:There was no statistical difference between the boy and girl in the 12-year-old group(p>0.05).The average chest circumference of the boy in the 7~11 years old group was higher than that in the girl, with statistical significance of gender difference(p<0.05);The average value of boy in all ages of 7~10 years old was higher than that of girl, and there was statistical significance of gender difference(p<0.05);(5)Sitting height: At 11 years old, there was no significant difference in the average sitting height between boy and girl(p>0.05).At the age of 12,the average sitting height of girl was higher than that of boy of the same age, with statistical significance of gender differences(p<0.05);(6)Upper arm circumference:The average upper arm circumference of boy in all age groups was larger than that of girl, and the gender difference was statistically significant(p<0.05);(7)Head circumference:The mean value of head circumference for boy of all ages 6~12 years old was higher than that of girl of the same age,and there was statistical significance of gender difference(p<0.05);(8)Abdominal sebum thickness:The average skinfold thickness of the abdomale was higher than that of the girl in the 10-year-old group(p<0.05),and there was no statistical difference in gender between the other groups(p>0.05)?3.Comparison with national standards(2005):(1)Height:The average height of boy and girl in all age groups was statistically significant compared with national standards(p<0.05),but the average height of boy and girl aged 6 and 7 was greater than the national standard, while the average height of each group was 8~12 years old.Less than the national standard;(2)Body weight:The average weight of boy in the 8th,9th,and 10 th age groups did not differ from the national standard(p>0.05).The average weight of boy in the 6-year-old a nd 7-year-old groups was greater than the national standard(p<0.05),and boy in the 11-year-old and 12-year-old groups. The average body weight was less than the national standard and was statistically significant(p<0.05);The average weight of girl students was not significantly different from the national standard except for the 9-year-old group(p>0.05).The average body weight of all age groups of 6~8 years old was higher than the national standard. The difference was significantly different(p<0.05),10-The average body weight of the 12-year-old group was lower than the national standard, and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).4.Overweight and obesity:The overweight rates of children aged 6-12 years old in Baota District of Yan'an City were 9.05%,8.32%,8.28%,8.46%,9.95%,8.00%,and 9.35%,respectively;Among these data, the overweight rate of boy students is 9.59%,and the overweight rate ofgirl students is 7.78%;The total overweig ht rate for boy and girl is 8.71%?The obesity rates of children aged 6~12 in Baota District were 16.46%,13.01%,12.60%,11.61%,9.61%,8.32%,and 7.74%,respectively.The obesity rate of boy was 12.20%,and the obesity rate of girl was 9.92%;the total obesity rate for boy and girl is 11.09%.Conclusion:1.There are gender differences in the developmental level of children aged 6-12 years in Baota District,Yan'an City.Compared with the national standard(2005 edition),the overall development level of boy and girl is lower than the national standard, which should cause us enough attention.2.The rate of childhood obesity in the region is significantly higher than the national level(2005 edition),which should cause us to pay enough attention.3.This study provides a reference for the nutritional status of children of school age and children's health care.
