Objective: The shape characteristics of the scapula are observed and the related structures are measured from the anatomical basis and clinical application to provide guidance for the design of internal fixation and joint internal fixation of scapular fracture. Methods: The selected dry and intact 77 adult scapula specimens(male or female, left or right)were randomly assigned.First, the gross shape of the specimen was observed. Then, the data of the correlation structure were measured with vernier caliper?spiral micrometer and protractor. Finally, statistical analysis.Results:(1)The scapula is an irregular and triangular flat bone with two surfaces, three borders, one spine and one joints. The bone of the fossa is very thin. While the bone is thicker in scapula spine and acromion, lateral border and scapula glenoid, superior border and coracoid, medial border. They constitute the stable frame structure of the scapula.(2)The specific values of the relevant structures at the framework are measured, and the values are all in normal distribution.Conclusion:(1)The stable frame structure of the scapula support internal fixation.(2)Clinically,there is no joint internal fixator specially designed for scapular fracture. The corresponding joint internal fixture can be designed according to the stable frame structure.
