The Avian Influenza Virus(AIV)is a type A influenza virus.It is generally believed that AIV mainly infects poultry and wild birds,however it has been found that some AIV serotypes have shown the ability to infect humans.It has been reported that the subtypes of avian influenza viruses with ability to infect humans directly are H5,H7,H9 and H10.In 1992,Chen et al.had isolated the H9N2 avian influenza virus from chicken farms in Guangdong Province of China.Subsequently,several groups successively isolated the H9N2 virus from chickens,ducks and geese.In 1998,4 cases and 5 cases of H9N2 flu virus infections in human were reported in Shaoguan and Shantou of Guangdong province respectively.H5N1 flu virus infections in human occurred in Hong Kong SAR in 1997,6 of 18 people that infected with H5N1 died.Statistics from the World Health Organization showed that H5N1 subtype has caused 858 infections and 453 deaths worldwide from 2003 to 2017.In order to explore the epidemics of influenza virus of H5 and H9 and help with policies setting of epidemics prevention,3145 blood samples were collected from 31 provinces,cities and autonomous regions in mainland China from March to April in 2017.Hemagglutination inhibition(HI)test was used to test the H5 and H9 influenza virus antibodies.The results showed that the total positive rates of H5 and H9 influenza virus antibodies were 60.48%(1902/3145)and 3.78%(119/3145)respectively.However,the positive rates of H5 and H9 influenza antibodies in women were significantly higher than that of men(P<0.001).In addition,the positive rate of H5 influenza virus antibody was higher in the 18-29(63.72%)and 70-99 age(63.95%)groups respectively,while the positive rate of H9 influenza antibody in the 30-39 age group was the highest,reached at 6.76%.Geographically speaking,high positive rates are in northeastern provinces,coastal provinces,cities and autonomous regions,and southwestern provinces,cities and autonomous regions of China,of which Jiling ranked the top of the positive rate of H5 influenza virus antibodies(78.57%).While high positive rates of H9 appeared in the coastal areas,Northeastern and North provinces,cities and autonomous regions of China,of which Hainan province ranked the top(28.57%).Taken together,statistical analysis has demonstrated that the people in China are in the high risk of avian influenza virus infection of H5 and H9,which should attract more attention.
