Objective: 1.To observe the clinical curative effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).2.To discuss the possible mechanism of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).Methods: The 120 clinically selected patients with type 2 DPN were divided into research group and conventional treatment group with 60 people in each group,100 healthy people were selected as normal control group at the same time.All patients received strict treatment regimen by Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae intravenous drip?control blood sugar and blood pressure,and symptomatic treatment.Meanwhile,the research group received hyperbaric oxygen treatment,the pressure is 0.22 MPa,30min with 5min inhalation of air,repeated 2 times,the total oxygen time 60 min,once a day continued for five times.All the people were received venous blood collection on an empty stomach limosis before the treatment and the 7th?14th day after the treatment.The plasma related biochemical parameters?neurological total symptoms score(TSS)and Michigan neuropathy screening instrument(MNSI)were compared.Results: After the treatment,the TSS and MNSI score in the research group were significantly less than the conventional treatment group(P<0.01).Compared with the conventional treatment group,the level of nitric oxide(NO)and peroxide lipid(LPO)in the research group were significantly decreased(P<0.01),while the super oxide dismutase(E-SOD)?catalase(E-CAT)and glutathione peroxidase(GSHPX)in the research group were significantly improved(P<0.01).Conclusion: The therapy of hyperbaric oxygen has better therapeutic effects on DPN,its mechanisms were related with the inhibition of oxidative stress and the improve of antioxidant capacity.
