Objective:Low carbohydrate diet interventions were conducted in hospitalized COPD patients for a period of hospitalization and 3 months after it.?1?To explore the impact of LCD on BODE index in COPD patie?Main indicator?;?2?To determine the effect of LCD on blood analysis in COPD patients?Secondary indicator?;?3?To investigate the effect of LCD on COPD patients'quality of life?Secondary indicator?.Method:A total of 63 COPD inpatients were selected by convenience sampling. And divided into an intervention group?n=30,from Feb.2017 to Apr.2017?and control?n=33,from Nov.2016 to Jan.2017?according to an admission order. The intervention group received a low carbohydrate diet?sugar:fat:protein=32:50:18?while the control group received a routine diet?sugar:fat:protein=55:27:18?.This research is a quasi-experimental study without contemporaneous control.Result:Among main indicators,FEV1%?mMRC?6MWD and BODE index in intervention group have been improved after intervention?P<0.05?;Statistically significant of 6MWD and BODE index was found compared with the control group.Among secondary indicators, there was a significant improvement of PaCO2?PaO2?PH?P<0.05?in the intervention group while there was no significant difference between the two groups on quality of life after intervention.?P>0.05?.Conclusion:Low carbohydrate and high fat diet can effectively reduce the airflow obstruction in COPD patients, improve the status of blood analysis?symptoms of dyspnea and exercise capacity, and also play a significant positive effect on the prognosis of COPD patients.
