Objective:to explore the value of Chinese version of COPD Assessment Test(CAT)in the quality of life of the patients of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and todiscuss the correlation between CAT and bode index. Methods:Choose40COPDpatients of the Department of Respiratory and Critical disease Medicine of xinjiang uygurautonomous region people’s hospital from June2010to June2011.Graded CAT and bodeindex respectively in the acute phase and stable phase. CAT score and bode index score ofthe acute phase and stable phase for matching t test, evaluate the sensitivity of CAT forpatients with COPD condition changes, and then for correlation test, evaluate theeffectiveness of CAT. Results:Matching t test showed that CAT score obviouslyimproved in stable phase than acute phase (P <0.01), and clinical symptoms, bode indeximproved consistently. CAT score was positively correlated with MMRC scale and bodeindex scor(er=0.514,0.543,respectively P=0.003,0.001),negatively correlated with FEV1%(r=-0.433,P=0.013), uncorrelated with6MWD and BMI(r=-0.241via-0.011, P=0.184via0.953). Conclusion:CAT is an effective, sensitive and feasible method to evaluate thequality of life in COPD patients.
