Research On The Status Of Community Traditional Chinese Medicine Preventive And Health Care Services In Developed Areas Based On Residents' Perspective

Objective:This study explores the status of community TCM preventive and health care services,discusses residents' perception,trust and willingness to pay for TCM preventive and health care services,and analyzes relevant influencing factors to provide suggestions for the development of community TCM preventive and health care services in developed regions.Methods:Through a large number of literatures reading and sorting,we use a self-made questionnaire to survey six communities in three regions of Beijing,Shanghai and Guangzhou in China.Descriptive statistics analysis was used to analyze the development of TCM preventive and health care services among residents,chi-square test was used to analyze the differences in perception,trust and willingness to pay,and the binary logistic regression model was used to explore factors affecting their perception,trust and willingness to pay for TCM preventive and health services.Results:Among the respondents,506 had heard of TCM preventive and health services,accounting for 84.5%,93 of them had not heard,accounting for 15.5%.As for the trust in TCM preventive and health services,372 trusted in TCM preventive and health services,accounting for 62.1%,227 were not trusted it,accounting for 37.9%.In the survey of willingness to pay for TCM preventive and health care services,200 were willing to pay for TCM preventive and health services,accounting for 33.4%,and 399 were unwilling to pay for it.The results of univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in residents' perception among average monthly household income,monthly expenditure on drugs,medical services and supplies,monthly cost of TCM preventive and health care services,the number of TCM preventive and health care services provided by the community,and chronic diseases or not(P < 0.05).There were statistically significant differences in residents' trust among average monthly household income,average monthly household spending,monthly expenditure on drugs,medical services and supplies,monthly drugs of TCM preventive and health care services,chronic disease or not,degree of valuing health,engaging in daily exercise,the number of TCM preventive and health care services provided by the community(P < 0.05).There were statistically significant differences in residents' willingness to pay among cultural degree,occupation,average monthly household income,average monthly household spending,monthly expenditure on drugs,medical services and supplies,monthly drugs of TCM preventive and health care services,the number of TCM preventive and health care services provided by the community(P < 0.05).The multi-factor results showed that the number of TCM preventive and health care services provided by the community and chronic diseases or not had an impact on the perception of TCM preventive and health care services.Chronic diseases or not,degree of valuing health,and the number of TCM preventive and health care services provided by the community had an impact on the trust of TCM preventive and health care services.The average monthly household income,the monthly cost of TCM preventive and health care services,and the number of TCM preventive and health care services provided by the community had an impact on the willingness to pay for TCM preventive and health care services.Residents who had heard of TCM preventive and health care services were more inclined to trust the services,and residents who trust in TCM preventive and health care services were more likely to pay for the service.Conclusion:Community TCM preventive and health care services developed well in developed areas of China.Residents had high perception and trust in TCM preventive and health care services,but their willingness to pay was relevant low,which needs to be improved.Therefore,it is recommended that the community should innovate the publicity methods of TCM preventive and health care services,enrich the content of TCM preventive and health care services,and standardize the implementation guidelines for publicity methods.On the other hand,the government should support the related policies and introduction of TCM preventive and health care services,improve the supervision of TCM preventive and health care services,and then expanding the scope of medical insurance payment for TCM preventive and health care services.
