Purpose:The study is based on the needs to clarify the core competence of nursing clinical instructors in professional nursing master program in China.Based on the core competence classification theory and competency model,this paper constructs a systematic and scientific evaluation index system for the core competence of nursing clinical instructors in professional nursing master program.It will provide important reference standards to train,select,evaluate,and appoint nursing professional teachers in the future;thus,promote the overall quality of clinical instructors and improve the teaching quality of nursing graduates.Method:Based on literature review and theoretical analysis,this study elaborates the status quo of nursing clinical instructors at home and abroad.12 Face-to-face semi-structured interviews with nursing clinical and clinical medicine specialists,nursing clinical teaching leaders,and nursing graduate students were conducted in 2018.Based on the literature review and interview data,a framework of the core competence index system for clinical nursing instructor was constructed.Then,the Delphi method was employed;and two rounds of expert consultation were conducted.The positive coefficient,authority level,and coordination degree of expert opinions were calculated through Excel2010 and SPSS 21.0 statistical software,and inspect the representativeness and reliability of consulting experts.Eventually,an evaluation index system for the core competence of nursing professional clinical teachers was formed,the weighting coefficients of each indicator were reported,and the reliability test of the index system is carried out by calculating the Cronbach coefficient.Result:(1)A basic framework of the core competence index system for nursing clinical instructors is established through the interviews of a total of 12 clinicalinstructors,nursing clinical teaching leaders,and nursing professional graduates.(2)6 first-level indicators: professional ability,teaching ability,scientific research ability,management ability,development ability and moral ability were developed for the index system of the core competence of nursing clinical instructors in professional master program.21 second-level indicators and 63three-level indicators were determined through Delphi method.(3)The effective recovery rate of the two rounds of expert consultation questionnaires is 94% and100% respectively,indicating that the experts have higher enthusiasm for this research;the expert authority coefficient is 0.895,indicating that the experts have high authority and the reliability of the consultation results is high.The coordination coefficient of the second round of expert consultation is 0.151,and the P value is <0.01,indicating that the experts have a good coordination degree for all the indicators.(4)The weighting coefficient of each level of indicators is determined based on the analytic hierarchy process,and the weight coefficients of the six first-level indicators are 0.3179,0.1635,0.2358,0.08999,0.0714,0.1213,respectively.Consistency test for each indicator,the CR value is between0.00-0.046,both <0.10,indicating that the judgment matrix of this study has reasonable consistency,and the weight coefficient of each index is logical.(5)By calculating the Cronbach coefficient,testing the reliability of the evaluation index system,the Cronbach coefficient of the first-level indicator is 0.649,the Cronbach coefficient of the second-level indicator is between 0.565-0.950,and the Cronbach coefficient of the third-level indicator is between 0.657-0.936,which both achieve medium and high reliability,indicating that the evaluation index system has good reliability.Conclusion:This study combines Face to face interview and Delphi research methods,establishes a scientific and reasonable evaluation index system for the core competence of clinical instructors in nursing professional master program.The weighting coefficient of each index were determined,which will provide guidance basis for training,selection,assessment,and appointment of nursing clinical instructors in the future,and also provide relevant reference for government departments in developing policies related to clinical instructors and certification training.
