Objective: To detect the expression of Ras and a-factor converting enzyme 1(Rce1)in the blood and urine of patients with prostate cancer(PCa)and benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)and determine its clinical significance in the diagnosis of prostate cancer. Methods: The clinical data of 96 patients with PCa,133 patients with BPH diagnosed by pathology from in April 2017 to October 2018 were collected. As control group, data of 30 patients with urinary calculi, cryptorchidism, varicocele were collected as well.Western Blot and ELISA were used to detect the expression of Rce1 in the blood and urine specimens. Results: Difference of blood Rce1 level among the three groups was statistically significant.Blood Rce1 level(93.25 ± 15.14 pg/?l)was significantly higher in PCa patients than the others group(78.37±16.91pg/?l,77.73±12.04 pg/?l)(P=0.000).There was no difference in patient's blood Rce1 between BPH and the control group(P=0.843).Meanwhile,higher blood Rce1 was correlated with higher Gleason score and higher N stage(P=0.03,P=0.039).With a cut-off value of 74.98 pg/?l,thesensitivity and specificity of blood Rce1 were 89.7% and 46.3%,respectively.However,there was no significant difference in patient's urine Rce1 between PCa and BPH patients(P=0.734).The area under the curve(AUC)value of blood Rce1 and PSA in combination was higher than each parameter alone(P=0.000).Conclusion: The blood Rce1 concentration is helpful to improve the early screening rate of PCa,and is associated with the malignant degree and N stage of prostate cancer.Meanwhile, the blood Rce1 and PSA taken together can assist in the accurate diagnosis of PCa.Rce1 is potentially a new marker for the screening and prognosis of PCa.
