Objective To investigate the compliance of occupational population in Chongqing with “Wanbu” App walking intervention activities, and to analyze the effect of the activity on the health indicators, sleep quality, mental health and health knowledge of occupational population in Chongqing and the dose-effect relationship. To provide a new reference and basis for exploring the health management model of occupational groups. Methods A total of 2,659 occupational people in institutions, enterprises, undertakings and other units in 37 districts and counties of Chongqing were recruited in the 100-day walking activity. The “Wan Bu”App was used to feedback the walking situation to the study subjects daily and to give online incentives. The supporting pedometer collected the number of daily steps of the study subjects and calculates their 10,000-step rate. The systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure,waist-to-hip ratio, body mass index, body fat percentage, visceral fat index of study subjects were measured by sphygmomanometer and body tester respectively. The questionnaire collected basic personal information, sleep quality, mentalhealth and health knowledge of study subjects.Data analysis was performed by SPSS 19.0 software.Pearson ?2test was used to compare the10,000-step rate of population in different features and to analyze intervention compliance.Paired t-test was used to compare the indicators before and after intervention, and the effects of activities on physical indicators were evaluated. The Pearson correlation analysis studied the relationship between changes of indicators and 10,000-step rate.One-way ANOVA compared the changes of different indicators before and after intervention in different groups of 10000-step rate.Multiple linear regression analysis was used to study the influencing factors of indicators' change before and after intervention. Results The subjects with a ‘10,000-step rate of ?90%' accounted for more than 80% of the populations of different genders, ages, education levels, occupations and employer attribute. The subjects with a‘10,000-step rate = 100%' accounted for more than 45% of the different characteristics. The difference of 10000-step rate between gender, age and education level was statistically significant(P>0.05).After intervention, physical health indicators, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure,waist-to-hip ratio,BMI,BFP,VAI were lower than that before intervention(P<0.05).The sleep quality, mental health and health knowledge increased after intervention, and the changes in sleep quality and mental health were statistically significant(P<0.05).Subjects were grouped by activitycompletion("10,000 steps"),and the changes of systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure,BFP,VAI,and health knowledge scores before and after intervention were different between groups(P<0.05).There was a positive correlation between the 10,000-step rate and the changes of systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure,BFP,VAI and health knowledge scores before and after intervention(P<0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that the higher the 10,000-step rate, the greater changes in systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure,BMI,BFP,VAI,and health knowledge scores(P<0.05).There was no significant correlation between the decrease of waist-hip ratio and the influencing factors. And there was no significant correlation between the changes of sleep quality score and mental health score and the 10,000-step rate. Conclusion Most of study subjects have a good adherence to the“Wanbu” App walking intervention, and this activity can improve health to a certain extent.Systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure,waist-to-hip ratio,BMI,BFP,VAI,sleep quality, mental health and health knowledge are all improved.Improvements in blood pressure,BFP,VAI,and health knowledge are associated with walking performance. Therefore, the walking intervention program based on the “Wanbu” App should be continued and may try to be promoted in a larger population.
