Objective:This study aims to understand the clinical features of neonatal thrombocytopenia(NTP)in a children's medical center in China including the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, treatment and prognosis. Methods:The clinical data of 171 hospitalized neonates were retrospectively analyzed. The enrolled criteria is ever been detected at least once of PLT<10010~9/L from January 1,2017 to December 31,2017,and had no history of surgery or more than 24 hours hospitalized history before admission.Results:1.By univariate analysis,118 out of 171 had mild NTP,the most cause leading to NTP was bacterial sepsis(39.8%),followed by postpartum asphyxia(26.3%)and intrauterine distress(19.5%),ect.53 had severe NTP,and the most common cause was Bacterial sepsis(69.8%)also,followedbypostpartumasphyxia(39.6%)andintrauterine distress(30.2%),ect.Among the 171 NTP children,112(65.5%)had multiple causes,50(29.2%)had a single cause, and the remaining 10 children with NTP had no clear related pathogenic factors.2.Among the 171 children with NTP,103(60.2%)developed clinical bleeding.Out of the 34(19.9%)severe bleeding cases,20 cases suffered with mild NTP and 14 with severe NTP.3.Among the 171 children with NTP,167 patients totally recovered after treatment, and 4 patients died. But the causes of death were not NTP leading hemorrhage.Conclusions:1.NTP was mainly constituted with mild thrombocytopenia.2.The cause of NTP is complicated and diversity, the most common cause is infection, followed by intrauterine distress and postnatal asphyxia. And most NTP is the result of multiple causes.3.NTP is prone to develop clinical hemorrhage, and the incidence of severe hemorrhage is much high.4.The good prognosis of NTP is easy obtained by solving the background causes.
