Objective:To conclusion the etiology, clinical characteristics and outcome of newborn thrombocytopenia (NTP) in order to provide practical basis and reference for the diagnosis and treatment of NTP.Method:We retrospective analyze the etiology, clinical characteristics and outcome of the patients with newborn thrombocytopenia who admitted in the Division of Neonatology of the first affiliated hospital of guangxi medical university between May 2013 and October 2014. To analyze the 172 cases of NTP using statistical, differences were considered significant when P value of less than 0.05Results:(1)The incidence of NTP was 8.9%, the prevalence of preterm and full term infants was 68.6% and 31.4%.(2) There are 62.8% were male children and 37.2% were female children in the 172 cases patients. (3)The birth weight of 2.0 kg or less of NTP accounted for 75.6%, and birth weight less than 2.0 kgaccounted for 24.4%. (4) There are 73.8%of patients the number of platelets is between 50×109/L and 100×109/L,there are 26.2% of patients the number of platelets is less than 50×109/L. (6) The incidence of NTP in infection was 89.5%、in fetal distress was 24.4%、in asphyxia was 22.1%、in hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy(HDCP) was 9.9%、in idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) was 7%、in pregnancy women complicated related gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM) was 6.4%、in pregnancy women complicated related immune factors was 5.8%、inerythroblastosis fetalis was 5.2%、in Card-mei syndrome was 1.2%、(7) There are 20 cases complicated hemorrhage symptom (11.6%) and 9 cases complicated severe hemorrhage event (5.2%). (7) The mortality was ofNTP 4.6%,164cases was cured and 8 cases was dead.Conclusion:(1) The incidence of NTP was 8.9% and the children with mild thrombocytopenia was more common. (2) The study indicated that closely related to the occurrence of the NTP factors are:asphyxia, intrauterine distress, infection; (3) Children with early thrombocytopenia platelet decline is more serious. (4) We should attach importance to NTP because it can merge hemorrhage events. (5) The disease prognosis is associated with the etiology and most of the outcome is good.
