Research Of The Relationship Between TCM Constitution Of Hypertension And Diabetes Mellitus And Multimorbidity In Elderly Patients

Objective: By investigating the relationship between the constitution distribution of the elderly with chronic diseases in Chengdu area and the constitution types of the elderly with chronic diseases in Chengdu area,we hope that we can further combine the differentiation and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine with the management of chronic diseases,and ultimately improve the health status and quality of life of the elderly.Methods: Epidemiological cross-sectional survey was used to investigate the Constitution and lifestyle of elderly patients over 60 years old with chronic diseases in Geriatrics Department of Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine by using the "Classification and Judgment of Constitution of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the Aged" Scale.A total of 198 cases were collected.After collecting data,Excel software was used to establish the database,and SPSS21.0 statistical software was used to analyze the distribution of physical fitness,the difference of influence of lifestyle on physical fitness distribution,the relationship between chronic diseases and physical fitness distribution,and the difference of influence of lifestyle on physical fitness distribution.Result: 1.Among the elderly chronic disease patients,the main constitutional types are Yang-deficient Constitution,Qi-deficient Constitution and Yin-deficient Constitution;the first three constitutional types are Qi-deficient Constitution,Yang-deficient Constitution and Yin-deficient Constitution in single disease diabetes mellitus patients;the main constitutional types are Yin-deficient Constitution in hypertension and diabetes mellitus patients,accounting for 22.1%,followed by Qi-deficient Constitution,Yang-deficient Constitution,Phlegm-dampnessConstitution,Damp-haet Constitution and so on.2.There was no significant difference in constitution ratio between hypertension and diabetes mellitus with single disease,and between diabetes mellitus with single disease and diabetes mellitus with hypertension(P > 0.05).There was significant difference in the distribution of Damp-haet Constitution between hypertension and diabetes mellitus with hypertension(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in other constitution types(P > 0.05).3 There were significant differences in physical distribution among different age groups,different living styles,smoking and alcohol history,sleep duration and sleep habits.Among them,there were significant differences in the distribution of Yin-deficient Constitution,Balanced Constitution,Damp-haet Constitution,Stagnant Blood Constitution in different age groups(P < 0.05).Conclusion: The constitution of hypertension,diabetes mellitus and hypertensive diabetes mellitus is mainly deficiency constitution.Hypertensive patients with Damp-heat constitution are prone to diabetes mellitus.Improving bad living habits may correct biased constitution and play a certain role in preventing the occurrence of chronic diseases or slowing down the progress of venereal diseases.
