Objective:In order to provide theoretical basis and clinical guidance for promoting percutaneous nephrolithotomy by ultrasonography in lateral position, the changes of kidney activity, intercostal space, kidney position and distance from body surface to calyx in posterior kidney group were measured and compared by ultrasonography. Methods:The changes of kidney activity, intercostal space and kidney position in prone and lateral position of 80 patients with non-renal diseases were observed by point tracking technique, and the data were compared and analyzed statistically. Results:The intercostal space in lateral position was larger than that in prone position, and the position of kidney in lateral position was lower than that in prone position. The activity of kidney in lateral position was greater than that in prone position. The distance between body surface and calyx in posterior group of kidney in lateral position increased slightly. Conclusion:Lateral position should be the preferred position for ultrasound-guided percutaneous nephrolithotomy, which can theoretically improve stone clearance and surgical safety.
