Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Shenshi Acupuncture in the treatment of essential hypertension(EH)and the changes of related biochemical indexes,to objectively evaluate the clinical efficacy of timing acupuncture in the treatment of essential hypertension, and to further elaborate the related mechanism of acupuncture in the treatment of essential hypertension. Methods:This test strictly complies with the diagnostic criteria of hypertension and incorporates the exclusion standard,90 outpatients and inpatients with essential hypertension were collected from the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, the Department of Rehabilitation of Hebei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Department of Cardiovascular of Shijiazhuang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.According to the principle of randomized control, the patients were divided into two groups,45 cases in control group(with 1 cases of fall off),45 cases in treatment group. The control group was treated with take orally levoamlodipine maleate tablets, the treatment group was treated with acupuncture during Shenshi(15:00-17:00)on the basis of the control group for four weeks. The anti-hypertensive efficacy,TCM syndrome points and the difference of ET and NO levels were observed and compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Result:1.Compared with age, sex, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure,TCM syndromes points and ET?NO content, there was no statistically significant difference between two groups before the treatment(P>0.05),which was comparable.2.After treatment, there were statistical differences on SBP and DBP bet-ween the two groups(P<0.05).The anti-hypertensive effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05);the total anti-hypertensive effect of the treatment group was 86.7%,and that of the control group was 68.1%,and that of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).3.After treatment, there were statistical differences on the points of TCM syndrome between the two groups(P<0.05).The improvement ratio of TCM syndrome points in the treatment group was 93.33%,and that in the control group was 70.45%.There were statistical differences on the improvement ratio of TCM syndrome points between the two groups(P<0.05).4.After treatment, the content of ET in both groups decreased, and the content of NO in both groups increased, there were statistical differences on ET and NO contents in both groups(P<0.05).There was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.The systolic and diastolic blood pressures in patients with Essential Hypertension of Grade 1 and Grade 2 can be decreased by acupuncture during Shenshi.2.The scores of TCM syndromes in patients with Essential Hypertension of Grade 1 and Grade 2 can be reduced, and the symptoms of insomnia ?frequent nocturnal urination and other symptoms can also be improved by acupuncture during Shenshi.3.The content of ET was reduced and the content of NO was increased in patients with Essential Hypertension of Grade 1 and Grade 2 by acupuncture during Shenshi, and the anti-hypertensive mechanism may be related to the decrease of ET and the increase of NO.
