Objective:1.Exploring the current situation and influencing factors of nurses' attitude to death in the emergency departments of Hunan Province2.Exploring the current situation and influencing factors of nurses' attitude to caring for dying patients in emergency department of Hunan Province3.Exploring the correlation between the attitude to death and the attitude to caring for dying patients among nurses in the emergency departments of Hunan ProvinceMethod:Before starting the cross-sectional study,the correlation between the attitude to death and caring for dying patients among nurses was explored to provide the theoretical support through Meta-analysis.As for the survey,we extracted the nurses in emergency departments of Hunan Province with random number table method and there were 540 nurses were chose totally.The general information questionnaire and two scales,the Death Attitude Profile-Revised(DAP-R)and Frommelt's Attitude towards Caring for Dying Patients(FATCOD)respectively were adopted for data collectionThe data was analyzed by SPSS 20.0 and the result was compared with the Meta-analysis result.Results:The survey results showed that the average score of the attitude towards caring for dying patients of the nurses in the emergency department was 96.201±6.435,and the average score of attitude to death was 94.213±12.467.According to the Logistic analysis,there were four variables about attitude to death entry model,including the working years,psychological fatigue,education and the number of terminal patients cared for.And there were four variables about attitude to caring for dying patients entry model,including the age,hospice care education experience,education and psychological fatigue.The correlation coefficient of the attitude to death and the caring for dying patients(r)was-0.171(p<0.01).The dimensions of the attitude to death among nurses were related to caring for dying patients.The attitudes to caring for dying patients had statistically significant native correlation with acceptance avoidance,fear of death and death avoidance(p<0.01),and statistically significant positive correlation with natural acceptance(p<0.01).Besides,Meta-analysis(details in the review)showed the correlation coefficient of natural accept and the attitude to the caring for dying patients was 0.18,lower than the survey result(r=0.317).Conclusion:1.The nurses have low enthusiasm for caring for dying patients in the emergency departments of Hunan Province.The attitude toward caring for dying patients among nurses is influenced by the education,hospice care education,age.Nurses' attitude towards death is affected by working years,psychological fatigue,education,the number of terminal patients cared for2.There is a weak correlation between the nurses' attitudes toward death and nurses' attitudes about caring for dying patients in the emergency departments of Hunan province.Compared with the Meta-analysis results,nurses in the emergency departments of Hunan Province have a higher level of natural acceptance of death.
