Objective By comparing and evaluating the cellular immunity of mice exposed to mobile phone radiation and that in control group,the effect of mobile phone radiation on cellular immunity in mice was discussed.Methods 30 healthy adult male kunming mice with clean grade were bred adaptively for 2 weeks.The experimental animals were divided into 3 groups randomly as the followings,TDMA group,CDMA group and control group,10 mice in each group.A mobile phone was placed in the central position 3cm below each cage of the three groups.Phones placed in TDMA group and CDMA group were respectively installed with TDMA and CDMA communication cards,while the control group was not installed with communication card.Mobile phones in the three groups were switched on for 24 h and kept in silence mode.Cell phones were dialed once every 2h from 8:00 to 18:00 every day until being hung up.Cages in each group were kept at a distance of 5m space.During the experimental period,animals ate food and drank water freely,and the conditions of indoor background such as noise,temperature and humidity were consistent.Mice in the three groups were continuously exposed to mobile phone radiation for 42 days.The phagocytic function of neutrophils to staphylococcus albicans in the three groups was determined.The phagocytosis of mouse peritoneal macrophage to chicken erythrocytes was determined after intraperitoneal injection with 5% chicken erythrocyte suspension.The blood sample of mice in each group was collected aseptically and the serum was separated.Mouse spleen lymphocyte suspension was prepared.TUNEL assay was conducted for the determination of the apoptosis rate of spleen lymphocyte.Meanwhile,cell biology method was performed to determine the transformation rate.Contents of IL-4 and IFN-? in serum were measured by enzyme immunolabeling technique.Results 1 The phage percentages of neutrophil of mice in TDMA,CDMA group and control group were 69.82±3.50%,69.03±3.25% and 75.83± 5.66%,variance analysis results discovered that the difference of phage percentage of neutrophils in mice was statistic significant among the three groups(p<0.05),the phage percentage of neutrophil in mice in TDMA and CDMA group were lower than that in the control group(p<0.05);The phagocytic percentages of macrophage in TDMA,CDMA group and control group were 33.01±4.01%,36.07±4.70% and 35.95±2.77% respectively.The results of ANOVA showed that there was no significant difference in the phagocytic percentage of macrophage among the three groups(p>0.05).2 Lysis ring diameter for bacteria by lysozyme form serum in TDMA,CDMA group and control group were 1.85±0.06 cm,1.84±.05 cm,and1.95±0.12 cm respectively,variance analysis results demonstrated that lysozyme ring diameter was significant difference among the three groups(p<0.05).The lysis ring diameters both in TDMA and CDMA group mice were lower than that in control group(p<0.05).3 The spleen lymphocyte apoptosis rates of mice in TDMA,CDMA group and control group were 21.28±4.02%,19.17±3.18%,and16.08±2.25% respectively.Variance analysis results indicated that the differences of spleen lymphocyte apoptosis rate among the three groups were statistic significant(p<0.05),the spleen lymphocyte apoptosis rates both in TDMA and CDMA group were higher than that in control group(p<0.05).The spleen lymphocyte transformation rates of mice in the three groups were 26.20±3.80%,25.22±2.07% and 32.46±4.94% respectively.The results of ANOVA showed that the lymphocyte transformation rates among the three groups were significantly different(p<0.05),and the lymphocyte transformation rates both in TDMA group and CDMA group were lower than that of the control group(p<0.05).4 The concentrations of IFN-? in serum of mice in TDMA group,CDMA group and the control group were 159.48±14.00pg/ml,143.13±20.23pg/ml and 179.68± 20.65pg/ml respectively,the results of ANOVA showed that the IFN-? concentrations in the three groups were significantly different(p<0.05),and the concentrations of IFN-? in serum both in TDMA group and CDMA group were lower than that in the control group(p<0.05).The contents of IL-4 in serum of mice in the three groups were 86.43±5.08pg/ml,84.63±6.50pg/ml and 80.56±9.93pg/ml,respectively.The results of ANOVA indicated that there was no significant difference in the contents of IL-4 in the three groups(p>0.05).Conclusions 1 Cell phone radiation reduced the phagocytic function of neutrophils in mice,but had no effect on the phagocytic function of macrophages;2 Cell phone radiation might decrease the non-specific humoral immune function in mice;3 Cell phone radiation was likely to decrease specific cellular immunity in mice,but has no effect on specific humoral immunity.Figure7;Table4;Reference 102...
