With the fast development of science and technology, there is a widespread use of mobile telephone, whose effect on human has been getting more and more attention. The electromagnetic wave can penetrate biosystems and interacts with biological tissues which can induce changes of morphology, structure and function in different biological levels. To prevent from its harmful effect, thorough studies on the bioeffect mechanism of electromagnetic radiation have been carried out and many models, hypotheses and theories have been put forward to make clear the mechanism. However, all of them need to be confirmed by experiments.900 MHz continuous microwave was employed in our study to simulate the electromagnetic radiation of mobile phone at two intensities: 10 W/m2 and 90 W/m2, with the former close to intensity near the antenna of mobile phone. The bioeffect of microwave radiation was studied in two aspects:The inductive effect of 900 MHz continuous microwave on Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) early antigen in Raji cells was primarily studied. The latent EBV genome, contained in Raji cells, can express EBV early antigen with induction of cancer promoter. EBV early antigen can be detected by immunoenzyme assay to determine whether the detected factor is carcinogenic or promoter. The inductive effect of 900MHz continuous microwave on EBV early antigen and combined effect with cancer promoters was studied in our experiments.The transformation of NIH/3T3 cells induced by 900 MHz continuous microwave was further carried out. The malignant transformation system of NIH/3T3 cells cultured in vitro is sensitive to the carcinogen or cancer promoter in environment and is adopted as a classic method to clarify carcinogen or cancer promoter. The morphology and proliferation of NIH/3T3 cells exposed to 900 MHz continuous microwave radiation for 6 weeks was examined in our experiment and furthermore soft agar culture and animal carcinogenesis study was carried out to determine the...
